Is there a way to set certain pictures to only be viewable by friends?

Don't think so, but you can always send select photos via CMail.

Welcome to Collarme, Nate. Unfortunately, no such feature is available here.
You could, however, remove all your photos and make a post in your profile that
photos are available upon request. That way, you get to decide who sees them.
