Of "The Tiny Tummy Club".........
To explain this further, back in September I had weight loss surgery, the vertical gastric sleeve. I was doing great, I've lost a total of around 45 lbs, give or take a pound or 2 either way. I had the surgery in Tijuana, Mexico, everything went great, safe, successful, etc. Here are the issues that I have...
I have been stuck at a plateau since right before Thanksgiving. I know that a big part of it is my fault. As a truck driver I don't eat the healthiest, the weather has been too rotten to walk, I can't park a 72 foot vehicle at just any gym, Y, etc. I'm open to suggestions here. A couple of other issues that I'm curious about: 1) I'm having an issue with losing my hair. I'm taking in around 100mg of protein daily, I use Niaxin shampoo & conditioner & I take 5000 micrograms of biotin daily, but am still losing my hair. I try to eat chicken, but that does get old after awhile, eggs have 7mg protein per egg, greek yogurt has about 13mg, Muscle Milk has 25mg per bottle. I don't eat any kind of fish or seafood.
Another question I have, has anyone tried the Redi, Set, Go cooker? My friend uses hers on the truck, told me about it, so I bought one. I haven't tried it yet, but I was wondering if anyone has any good recipes for it. It comes with a pretty good recipe book, but I'm always looking for good recipes in any form. I also have the smallest George Forman grill on the truck & a microwave. But after working 14 hours straight, who really feels like cooking, hence the not eating the greatest LOL
I'm open to any help, suggestions, recipes, either here or in CMail.
I'm sitting here in a hotel in Vegas just having a total blast...fighting whatever crud that has snuck up on me...anyone get the # of the truck that ran my ass over?
Lauri

Thanks Lady Hibiscus,
That is encouraging! I can only hope mine starts growing back soon. I can see it now, a Dom goes to pull my hair & He ends up with a handful of it & we both burst out laughing after he gets past his heart attack. LOL It's not falling out THAT bad, but it is frustrating.
When I told my boss about my hair loss he told me to quit being so dramatic. I told him I may be many things, but a drama queen isn't one of them LOL
I wish I could figure out why I'm losing my hair. It is frustrating, it looks like I have a really longed haired animal in the truck from all the hair everywhere.

Regarding your eating - I have a very high tolerance for routine.  I would simply make up a week's sandwiches at a time, and make sure they had good stuff (sliced turkey, cheese, lettuce and tomato, whole grain bread, etc.) in them.  Store in a min-fridge.  Drink with a can of V-8 for lunch.

You seem to be avoiding certain foods.  What are they?

Other than avoiding fish & other foods that I don't care for, I try to avoid healthy food LOL j/k
I can't think of anything that I'm avoiding. It's tough to do routine in the truck, and 1 big problem that I have is that I'm ALWAYS wanting to eat, It's always right there at the back of my mind. I try not to keep any food in reach while I'm driving, but that isn't always working so well either. I'm not gaining weight, thank God, but I am just stuck.

There are exercises you can do that don't require a lot of space. Hell, from what I've seen of truck stop bathrooms, there is more than enough room in there. Get a kettlebell and a DVD on how to use it properly. Also, remove ALL simple carbs and sugars from your diet and I bet the combo will kick you right off that plateau.

It's probably the surgery and rapid weight loss.

http://www.ahlc.org/causes-f.htm

There are two different types of hair loss, medically known as anagen effluvium and Telogen effluvium. Anagen effluvium is generally due to internally administered medications, such as chemotherapy agents, that poison the growing hair follicle. Telogen effluvium, is due to an increased number of hair follicles entering the resting stage.
The most common causes of telogen effluvium are:

Physical stress: surgery, illness, anemia, rapid weight change.
Emotional stress: mental illness, death of a family member.
Thyroid abnormalities.
Medications: High doses of Vitamin A, Blood pressure and Gout medications.
Hormonal causes: pregnancy, birth control pills, menopause.

When the above causes of telogen effluvium are reversed or altered you should see the return of normal hair growth.

DIET CONSIDERATIONS
Hair loss may also occur due to dieting. Franchised diet programs which are designed or administered under the direction of a physician with prescribed meals, dietary supplements and vitamin ingestion have become popular. Sometimes the client is told that vitamins are a necessary part of the program to prevent hair loss associated with dieting. From a dermatologists's standpoint, however, the vitamins cannot prevent hair loss associated with rapid, significant weight loss. Furthermore, many of these supplements are high in vitamin A which can magnify the hair loss.

PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL STRESS
Surgeries, severe illnesses and emotional stress can cause hair loss. The body simply shuts down production of hair during periods of stress since it is not necessary for survival and instead devotes its energies toward repairing vital body structures. In many cases there is a three month delay between the actual event and the onset of hair loss. Furthermore, there may be another three month delay prior to the return of noticeable hair regrowth. This then means that the total hair loss and regrowth cycle can last 6 months or possibly longer when induced by physical or emotional stress. There are some health conditions which may go undetected that can contribute to hair loss. These include anemia or low blood count and thyroid abnormalities. Both of these conditions can be detected by a simple, inexpensive blood test.

HORMONAL CONSIDERATIONS
Hormonal changes are a common cause of female hair loss. Many women do not realize that hair loss can occur after pregnancy or following discontinuation of birth control pills. It is important to remember that the hair loss may be delayed by three months following the hormonal change and another three months will be required for new growth to be fully achieved.

I wonder if you are eating the wrong things. If I eat too many simple carbs, I'm never satisfied. Enough protein and complex carbs and I'm full.

That and water. I think a lot of people have trouble telling the difference between the thirst urge and the food urge. I know I did.

Another tip I've figured out. Dill pickles are extremely low carb and calorie, provides a lot of crunch satisfaction and vinegar helps curb hunger.

I buy big tubs of cut up fruit at my local grocery store. You could cut it up yourself, however. Strawberries, melons, grapes, pineapple, all cut into bite sized chunks. That is something you could have in the truck, and snack on during the day

Go back to basics, what you did pre-surgery and immediately after. Cut out sugar/simple carbs, drink your allocated water, stay away from bread, etc etc.

Otherwise, get back in contact with your doctor/medical team. Unless the cheaper Tijuana version does not include lifelong support.

The problem with weight loss is that there is never a one size fits all program.

Emotional and behavioral can be a big component; maybe this would help:
