Is there a way to put a page counter on my profile to see how many hits I get? As far as I can tell HTML is blocked and therefore a page counter is impossible...

Also, how do i edit which friends are displayed on my profile? How do I choose to display more?

I think if you have more friends to display, CM automatically shows them. I've seen people with friends sections that went on for miles. You can't rearrange them as far as I know.

As far as a page counter goes -- well if HTML is verboten, then... well, I guess the answer to that is pretty self-explanatory, right?

When people view your profile, the "Who's Viewing Me" thing turns red; when you click on it, it lists the users who have viewed you.

You don't need a gizmo or gadget to do that for you.

edit to add: Also, you have complete control over who choose to friend.
When you ask people to be on your list (provided they accept your offer) they will show up on yours, when you accept the friend request of another you get to choose whether you will be on their list, they will be on yours or both.

Most people who are actively searching though have a profile and it isn't hidden.
There are no perks for getting more hits.

OP~ I'm pretty sure unless I misread the TOS, or you live somewhere that having sex with a dog is legal, your profile might need to be edited.

Sure, but some people have an interest in knowing who is going to their site.

I'll share a small anecdote as an example. I used to be very active in the islamic tumblr world. Then, one day, someone posted a "tumbl" along the lines of "hey, all the muslim blogs should like this post so I can follow you all!" Fair enough, so I liked it. A few days later, I checked my analytics and found that someone from "location not set" using an ISP (based out of northern VA) that had been out of business for 8 years had checked out my blog. "Location not set" went through 26 pages of my blog before presumably figuring out how boring I am.

It's shit like that that makes me want analytics on all my sites.
