dubsub12 -> Is this a scam? (2/9/2012 8:21:10 AM)

Hi, back in mid Jan I wrote to a Domme who's profile says she is in France, and after about two exchanges here she says she wants money ... so I write back a respectful no thanks.

She then says ok I'll train you for free and offers me her yahoo ID which was on her profile anyway. By this point I'd had a little wine :) so started to chat to her on yahoo, she seems nice and wants to see my toys. Next, (and I forget if I asked of she offered) she gives me here mobile nuumber.

I spoke to her briefly and she sounded Africian (and her profile race and pic is black), and back on yahoo I asked was she in France and no, she is studying in the Ivory Coast.

Next day I confirned that by checking out the country code i'd dailled the night before. I googled here name and got a linkedin profile and it did say she is a student at some college in Ivory Coast, and google the college and it does mostly business courses which is what she said she did.

Anyway, I delete her from my yahoo and vow never to drink again! But, she texts me the next day, hey slave etc, I replied once saying I was away, she kept on texting a few more times and I ignored them. I get another one this morning.

What is going on here, what is the scam, will she just ask for money again? Is my phone at risk of being hacked? My phone bill shows no unusal charges so far.

Many Thanks

of course it is. Did you really have to ask?

She's trying to draw you in so that you give her money. She probably thinks she's got a fish on the line and she doesn't want to lose it. Just keep ignoring her. Does your mobile provider offer a way to block numbers?

Hi,

Thanks for your prompt response! I should have said "what scam" in my heading.

I'm wondering what the scam is, I take what you say LillyBoPeep. I'm worried that she has my number now, and if I'm going to see a huge bill one month. I'll see if I can block her thanks.

Scam or no scam, if you are not seeing anything productive coming from this, dont continue.

If you are so needy as you feel compelled to have to focus on someone( Im gathering is on another continent, not sure where you are ) and have an endless amount of cash on hand, then by all means go for it.

If you can't block her number, at least give your mobile company a heads up; they may be able to watch out for suspicious activity. Or see about changing your number. Pain in the neck, but it's a valuable lesson learned.

Here's the thing, when i "feel" like it is a scam....I refuse to ignore that. This happens the moment the subject of money is broached, see unless you are speaking to a financial Domme, who states up front that She does sessions and xyz is Her price list...money should not,I repeat not enter the conversation.
When a so called "lifestyle" Domme who is looking to engage in a relationship with me brings up money...the conversation is over.
I want to go see a pro( and there is nothing wrong with that,or them) I will,if I'm talking lifestyle....let's not talk money.
No real, honest to goodness lifestyle Domme has ever shown the least amount of interest in my cash stream....and that is the smell test right there.

I do know it's a scam and have been ignoring her, but as I say she texted today after a few weeks of silence. I hope I don't have to change my number :(

Scam bait her... See if you can get her to send YOU some money.  Of course, don't engage in any kind of electronic communication if you're not certain you can't be hacked...  Scammers aren't very good hackers... They're scammers.  A friend has made a hobby out of scam baiting... Hey, we all need a hobby!

Call your cell phone provider and ask them to investigate her. This way if charges do show up, the phone company will know that you already reported her and you shouldn't have to pay anything.
