Ouch, it`s so good to see the grand oil party fall further apart......

http://news.yahoo.com/palins-swipe-republican-establishment-cannibals-part-strategy-173500749.html

"The pile on Newt Gingrich by the Republican establishment, as well as some conservative writers, has drawn the ire of Sarah Palin, who decried the attacks of "Cannibals in GOP Establishment" in a recent Facebook post.

Palin has not formally endorsed Gingrich, though she did offer him support in the South Carolina primary. Palin's rebuke is not so much a defense of Gingrich than it is an assertion of tea party power and ideas, which she believes should be the driving force in the effort to replace President Barack Obama. Right now, Gingrich represents the best expression of the tea party approach."

In fairness Mr. Owner, you can't call us cannibals when the main course doesn't try to escape...

The GOP is in a mess.  On the one hand, there's a search for the candidate with the best chance of beating Obama, without any consideration whether he'd be better than Obama or have any particular set of beliefs and actions.  And there's the conservatives, who care only about ideology with no thought as to electability or practicality of the beliefs.  And in Gingrich's case, whether he's capable of organizing and making anything actually happen.

I blame the Bush administration for this.  They governed decisively, with no care about public opinion, and finished off with TARP, which firmly cemented public hatred of the GOP.  Then they folded up tents and went home, with no Bushies still in office.  Essentially, they left a power vacuum and a situation in which no Republicans wanted to be associated with the previous regime - the GOP suffered from a lack of identity.

So who's going to lead the GOP?  Almost everyone running is so new that they can claim they have no links to Bush.  Gingrich is a retread from the Clinton days, trying to make a case that he had something to do with the faded prosperity from those days.  Paul is a consistent, clear voice unaffiliated with anyone else.

Yeah, but Paul is a few good ideas consumed by a tornado of lunacy.

For example, his return to the 'Gold Standard'? Sure, the financial 'markets' have become billion-dollar briefcase-theft conspiracies, but is deregulating everything and collapsing the US money-supply to 0.5% going to fix the problems? Paul's 'libertarian' crowd somehow convince themselves that imploding the entirety of civilization into socio-economic feudal anarchy would 'improve' the human situation. Obviously, they've never lived in Nigeria, Somalia, etc, places where their ideology is real.

Eliminate all government regulations and agencies? No more FDA, EPA, AEC, etc? Anybody who wants to can peddle microbes or toxins, pump pollutants into the air or water, build dirty nuclear reactors and bombs, is completely free to do so, subject only to restraint (or the threats thereof) by successful lawsuits (by survivors wealthy enough) or vigilante/personal vengance against the (presumed) perpetrators.

That's the reality of the libertarians' idealized 'utopia' ... I'm all for minimal, efficient, effective, humane government, but those people won't or can't think matters through clearly ...

Ron Paul's problem is he has not explained his policies in detail. With the mainstream media blackout, it  has not been easy as well. Gold standard is not impossible, many respected economists propose it as well. China currently buys gold in large quantities. Fear of economic implosion could be exaggerated. With current crony capitalism, looting, kleptocracy that will inevitably continue under Obama or Republicans the collapse is inevitable. The signs are the elites are preparing for it. There are army and police joint exercises all over the country (recently signed NDAA in action).

This is really more about the "tea-party" as the extremist wing of the GOP call themselves and the "establishment" cons as Sarah calls them(which is a cop-out term,"the establishment" could be anyone at any time and are interchangeable depending).

Sarah couches herself(and the Ts) as the forces of good fighting evil and is claiming with a vailed threat that if the "establishment" whatever that is,doesn`t kowtow to her, that the GOP won`t win the next election.

Ironically(maybe?),that is the exact reason the "establishment"(this time a handfull of elected republicans and rightwing talking heads) are claiming that if newt wins the nomination that that will cause the republicans to lose.

To add to my Ron Paul defense story: here is Yesterday's interview with economy professor M. Hudson where financial situation incl. gold standard and Ron Paul are discussed.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDF5kC6rs8s&feature=player_embedded#!
M. Hudson thinks Paul is just running an information campaign with no desire to actually win the nomination. It could well be the case.

Paul's policies don't stand up to soundly reasoned scrutiny. Trying to engage him or his crowd in any sort of rigorous discussion winds up like dealing with religious fanatics, because when they're proven wrong on any point they never admit the problem, switch to something else, and then come back to point speaking with renewed presumption that they were correct.

For example, one thing the righties have somewhat correct is the 'money-multiplying' effect of current banking practices. The 'capital-reserve' regulations allow the banks to (for lack of a better term) hypercycle the invested/deposited funds into huge pyramids of everybody 'owning' and owing everybody else. (And the bank skims profits from all the transactions.) The 'more' money ostensibly floating around due to that gives everybody who got some of that money more purchasing power, which drives up the volumes and prices of everything, which some people label "economic progress."

Is that a good way to run an economy? ... Define "good." ... Can the entire mess be 'unwound' enough to equate the 'money-supply' with the gold reserves in one congressional session, because that's the max it'll get as the financial systems and the entire economy implode? ...

If Paul and his ilk ever came up with a realistic approach to untangling the financial pyramid, there'd be a queue twice around NYC lined up to support him. He hasn't, they haven't and nobody with half a mind to think the matter through wants to waste more time listening to the half-truth conspiracy-claptrap.

Sure, he makes some of the rightwing establishment uncomfortable, but that doesn't mean he's correct about much.

...

Some call it a mess ... Some call it a gift from Joseph Smith himself.... If things weren't this fucked up a LILLY-WHITE presidential debator couldn't proclaim himself a Mexican with a straight face... Things HAVE TO BE this fucked up to legitimize 2/3s of the candidacies in this primary race.

He needs to grow a set of balls. And his boy Rubio is playing it SAFE because he has decided he's going to be the GOP Candidate for Veep, no matter who wins.

Since you're obviously a lot more insightful than my supporters, I'll let you in on the real deal. We plan to keep on shocking the nation with our low rent mentality and pathetically executed nobles oblige act until we're finally able to bump Jersey Shore for the 9pm slot.
We figured out as a party that there no longer any money to be made by actually running the country. It's gone and we're just waiting to see what the form of the neovisigoths will be. The real money is in doing reality shows on MTV... The sleazier the better. We should have listened to Springer LANG BEFORE we spent all that cash and effort rigging the 2k election.

An interesting and unexpected phenomenon has emerged since Sarah`s weighing into the 2012 presidential race.

Her "facebook fans" are splitting.

The comments on her page on this topic are showing a fight between the tea-party true believers and the normal republicans.

"On Sarah Palin's Facebook Page, a Revolt Against Newt Gingrich"

Here are some:

Patrice's HomeschoolPage: Sorry, Sarah. This Mama Grizzly supports Rick Santorum. One thing I learned well from the TEA Party is to vote my principles, not the most likely to win. The ONLY candidate still standing whose values I share is Rick Santorum. I'll not cast a vote for any other, even if that means another 4 years of Obama. I have someone much higher than the GOP to answer for if I vote contrary to my beliefs. I'm sorry to see that members of the TEA Party no longer practice what they preached.

Angela Allen-Thompson: Palin, you have an agenda and a bias against Romney. How can you be so color blind to the same kinds of tactics you describe as destructive coming from the Gingrich campaign. Besides, the fact that you have already been backing a candidate since SC has shattered any credibility you have of giving an unbiased opinion, despite the faux objective tone you masquerade under. You are still a well-respected opinion leader in the GOP, but this kind of one-sided, blatantly hypocritical writing only depletes whatever capital you have left in the party.

Morgan Wheeler Boone: Can't vote for a person with the personal ethics of Newt. I thought we conservatives were for values. He walked out on two wives, without even a lame excuse. He broke two sets of marriage vows, then asks us to trust him? Sarah, its hypocritic of conservatives to scorn Bill Clinton, then claim Gingrich is OK.

John McClung: Do you want a Big Government Bush Republican that believes in man-made global warming, amnesty for illegal immigrants and taking money from Fannie and Freddie to be a "historian"? Then vote for Newt. I would rather have the guy that made his money from the private sector and will cut spending. Sorry Sarah, still love you, but I disagree with you on this one.

Wow... what a psychological TRAINWRECK the GOP Rank and File. No wonder the ferret dicks and potato enthusiasts are so obnoxious... they are having to stand their an witness the dissolution of the party who's name took them the whole of their adult lives to learn how to spell.

Good for them.  Paul and Santorum epitomize their beliefs.  Romney has his baggage and Newt is a complete loser - a pit bull on attack, without any compunction or morals, and a baby on defense, crying that people are mean to him.  He also is corrupt and can't organize and lead.  I have no idea why Palin is endorsing him.

There's a rumor that Newt promised her a position in his administration if elected, but I think she intends to be a talking head/pro speaker/columnist the rest of her life.So what's in it for her?
