Recent study: People who shift focus between two or more activities that require different mind-sets may have trouble with concentration and self-control in other areas of their lives. Example: Checking your BlackBerry while helping children with their homework requires you to switch back and forth between two different tasks. Consistent multitasking such as this taxes the executive function of the brain, which regulates self-control and discipline. That may make it difficult for you to control your temper, stick to a diet or keep up with an exercise routine. Self-defense: Try to group similar activities together …or recognize that you may be prone to self-control failures after multitasking, so plan accordingly.

Well this sucks.

littlewonder -> RE: Multitasking Makes You Fat (1/26/2012 8:37:17 AM)

I've suck at multi-tasking. I used to have to do it at work and it was difficult for me. I felt I couldn't give a 100 percent to both tasks and both were getting shortchanged.

I like to stick to one project, finish it and move onto the next. When I talk on  my phone I have to drop everything else because I can't give the other person the attention that their call deserves.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Multitasking Makes You Fat (1/26/2012 8:44:44 AM)

All you moms... YOU ARE HOSED. How can you do only one thing at a time when you're dealing with kids?

littlewonder -> RE: Multitasking Makes You Fat (1/26/2012 8:46:59 AM)

I only had one and I didn't do two things at a time when I had to help her with stuff. I dropped everything else and gave my time to her. If someone called I told them I would call them back later.

Now I'm sure if I had had more than one I wouldn't have been able to deal with it. I would have had a breakdown. lol

I commend women, especially single women, who have more than one. I know I couldn't have done it.

I don't think it's true either, Ash. Really busy people in the US tend to eat whatever is nearest and most convenient, if that is some processed junk food, some fried thing, some sugary thing, and diet pop. Stress, lack of sleep, bad food, and lack of movement makes us fat.

ashjor911 -> RE: Multitasking Makes You Fat (1/26/2012 9:40:53 AM)

correct, only
eat whatever is nearest and NOT THE most convenient

What are you implying, Ash? [8D] Or am I just having naughty thoughts?

Seriously, it's difficult. This is something like my 20th tax season... four months of being a prisoner of my office, with no set mealtimes, eating at my desk. It takes planning and effort to have fruit, yogurt, and other proper food to eat instead of just racing over to the fast food place.

ashjor911 -> RE: Multitasking Makes You Fat (1/26/2012 10:15:43 AM)

you can not have sex in the office, its bad thing.
cum will be all over, the papers get sticky ... LOL.

try handing someone at work paper with cum stain all over it...... NUGHTY

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Multitasking Makes You Fat (1/26/2012 10:20:15 AM)

Well I can't have sex in MY office because there's a big window!!
