Everyones 4 favourite words.
I went to a pub near me to play darts tonight, as I do most Tuesdays. This might explain some of my Tuesday night posts but that's a different subject..
The pub in question is opposite a council depot( doesn't sound great but it actually a decent boozer) and as I locked my bike up I noticed a sign saying" beware! theives operate in this area, don't leave valuables on show"
Fair enough I thought and I looked across at the council depot, the front of which had double metal gates and a single small entrance for people and counted 14 warning signs, telling people not to break in and alerting those going in of the dangers inside, ie. trucks, cars and machinery.
I walked in through 2 doors both of which had stickers on them telling me to drink sensibly and that selling or using drugs was unacceptable on the premises.
I got to the bar and ordered a pint and a packet of dry roasted peanuts and sat down to wait for the rest of my team mates. After finishing my nuts I started to fold the packet up and noticed a warning sign on them that said "may contain nuts"
Un fucking believable I thought and went for a piss, I was about to wash my hands when I was the sticker " warning, hot water"
What the fuck is going on? Does anybody have any common sense anymore? Do lawyers combined with greedy stupid idiots have so much power that I have to read 21 warning signs just to drink a fucking pint???

You can't fix stupid, but you can do due diligence to ensure it appears you tried to a degree commensurate with the law.

Welcome to the world.

And while you're at it, don't use your hair dryer in the shower and no snacking on the little funny-looking pellet you find in your jar of vitamins, no matter how hungry you suddenly find yourself.

I like the signs that say "Non-Potable Water" on public watered land.  I cannot conceive of anyone smart enough to know what "potable" means who would be dumb/weird enough to actually try to lap up sitting sprinkler water like an animal.

I have an entire collection of ridiculous sign pix. My Dad and I used to send each other bizarre warnings we would find.
Good times, good times.

I guess you just have to hope that the "non" part sets off an alarm ot two

I used to enjoy the "hidden dips" warnings on undulating roads, I kept imagining people searching for humous and guacamole

Or doesn't, thereby contributing to natural selection.

This is one of my favorite signs.  I use it as the wallpaper
on the administrator's account every time I set up a computer.

It would be this. After the "I'm suing because the coffee was hot" lawsuit, everyone has to CYA.

That was a great Seinfeld episode.

I've heard of people that had their kids drink from stagnate puddles at the sides of roads thinking they were being "outdoorsy".

At least here they say "recycled water, do not drink".
