i tend to take it personally when a profile says, "DON'T CONTACT ME UNLESS...".  So i'm NOT a Dominant male between the ages of 28 1/2 and 34 1/4 with brown eyes and a prehensile tail... maybe i like your style, and just wanna say hi... at least until you go all caps on me.  *sighs*

becca

WHY DO THEY DO THAT? he he

I had a very interesting conversation the other evening with a lady switch, the topic was subs - slaves and "dependents". I agreed with her that everytime O/one logs in there are the same cadre of names listed as recent visitors. Most of these purport to be subs or slaves looking for their One but it is her observation that they fall into a different catagory altogether. These dependents list requirements and demands for a fantasy Dom/me to fulfil and will drain One (if allowed or unrecognized) of time, energy and effort. Since this is an unrealistic dream...no One could possibly meet their needs and as a result this dependent will move on to Another constantly being disappointed and disappointing Others along the way.
If you find yourself agreeing in part or whole with this....what do you call them?

Everyone both Dom/mes and subs and slaves has a different version of what it is they need to get through this world and be happy. I am not a service oriented Dom and the ones asking/demanding for x y or z do nothing for me at the same time it doesn't make what they want wrong and the 'right' partner (Dom/me whatever) will make both of them happy.

Be happy.

All well thought responses...many from a different perspective that I hadn't thought of honestly. Thanks for giving Me your thoughts and insight....always interesting as to what comes out

feastie -> RE: So what do you call "them" (6/1/2006 4:42:53 AM)

Soooooo, someone isn't what you're looking for, in fact, a lot of someone's.  You may even think they're not submissive or dominant or whatever.  Their personal laundry list may not appeal to you.  So, you close their profile and go to the next one.

If you're not interested them based on their profile, why do you need a label to apply to them?

slave4urneeds -> RE: So what do you call "them" (10/28/2007 11:06:49 PM)

I'm sorry, but i must be missing something.  Isn't the reason MOST of us are here is to find a person that we hope would be the one.  Who wants and unfulfilling relationship?? Not me.  I have been there done that... and i can honestly say i would have prefered that the jerk had been honest up front instead of being a real fake that wasted alot of my time.  Remember it is about communication.  If you can't be honest and upfront with someone then you are a fake already.  Some are here just for a quick thrill others are not.  Say it whatever it is.  Who wants to spend hours talking to some a-hole who is married and isnt going to leave his wife if you are looking for a LTR.

Dependants!!  please!!!  Stop and think about what a lifestyle relationship is all about... with out submision there can not be domination.  Without domination there is no submission.  It takes both parties to make and get what we are seeking here.
Reading some of these posts reminds me of what cavemen types are really on these sites.  We maybe submissive,, but i'll be damn i sure am not a dependent doormat!!

TripleDkitty -> RE: So what do you call "them" (10/28/2007 11:27:25 PM)

[sm=preen.gif]I agree with slave4urneeds, I am learning about my submission but that does not mean I MUST submit to everyone who calls themselves Dom/Me.  Nor, I think does it mean that my ideals have to be exactally matched to E/everyone on this sight.  I think that there are as many definitions of dominition/submission as there are individuals and it is up to each person to define that within the realationship. Again, open communication is always the best course to take, in my opinion.

eyesopened -> RE: So what do you call "them" (10/28/2007 11:37:03 PM)

i wouldn't call them anything. While i believe i understand your point, for every do-me submissive there are also Do-Me Dominants.  What would your friend call Them?

If my toe itches it would just plain stupid to scratch my arm.  It was only after i sat down and really examined exactly what i was looking for was i able to find it.

How 'bout "sumbitchives"?

Yeah, I know.  I crack me up, too.

Well, depending on my mood, I either call them discerning.

Or I call them infatuation junkies.

And that isn't limited to just submissives and slaves but encompasses dominants/Masters as well.

SixFootMaster -> RE: So what do you call "them" (10/29/2007 1:47:24 AM)

I figure not everyone knows exactly what it is a) that they are looking for and b) that they will settle for

I don't discount it - unless the person has explicitly added "MUST" all over the place.

there are Domminant males out there with prehensile tails? and all this time i've been settling for the ones with out tails...damn....

Celeste43 -> RE: So what do you call "them" (10/29/2007 6:06:14 AM)

First, a lot of us regulars aren't looking, so she's wrong on that part.

Second, having been one of those highly picky people, I call us smart. I didn't waste my time with obviously unsuitable people and vice versa.

You're right hon, it doesn't. I checked out the OP's profile and if I were to judge I wouldn't call it realistic by my standards...so, live and let live.

i agree with both of you 100%.  Of course i am one of those too..LOL  And i feel like those that dont take time to fill out a profile worth while is probably hiding something to begin with....
