Interesting results - was wondering about this and thanks for the link to the other discussion. Seems like europeans are more willing to travel abroad. Was just curious about this :-) Thanks for the answears so far.

That's just it Cuddle... my kids are more of a fixture here than I am.... so i'm just abiding my time... but I got like 5 years. After they're outta school and on their own...who knows.... i might... i might not.. dunno....time will tell.

I did choose to relocate to join my master. Although there were some fairly complex details to take care of (house, job hunting, etc.,) once I'd made the decision to wear his collar, there was no question about the move. I'm fortunate that my daughters are grown and independent and my profession transfers fairly easily. We haven't looked back, and even enjoyed most of the 1800 mile trek that it took to bring me home to him. I will say that people considering a major move should spend LOTS of time in preparation. We talked about all possible issues during lengthy visits and shared enough personal information so that each could be comfortable that there were no surprises ahead. It's crucial to do your homework - meet family and friends and make sure that your vision of each other is based on reality. For a M/s relationship, nothing less makes any sense. jocelyn

My situation's rather unusual and wonderful, I think. I just recently got into the lifestyle, knowing that I would probably be relocating sometime soon to begin working towards my Ph.D. I really wanted to do this in NM, but it was possible to do it any number of places if I found a Dom I really clicked with. In the meantime, a wonderful Dom here in Georgia began training me, and agreed to help me find a more permanent situation. So my profile said that I would reconsider relocation, but I knew that I was much more likely to relocate if it was NM, and I contacted a few Doms there. Interestingly enough, one of the ones I contacted, after chatting for a while, turned out to be someone I knew 8 years ago in Oregon who was even briefly a lover and a singing partner, before either of us got into D/s. As we continued to talk, it became apparent that this was synchronicity at work, fate bringing us together again, and I will be flying out in 2 weeks to spend a week with him and his first slave with the intent to move there August 1st. And to confirm the whole fate angle, the University out there emailed me the very night the three of us agreed that this was all 'meant to be' to offer me adjunct work. My Master here in GA continues to train me to prepare me for my new home (he and my Master-to-be and even my slave sister have become very close) and I have moved in with him for my final two months of preparation. So yes, relocation was definitely an issue, and it's all coming together beautifully, one step at a time. saph

When my Beloved and I met, I owned a paid-off house and he didn't own a house at all. That factored into our decision to eventually have him move in with me, rather than the other way around. I still own the house and I don't think he'd want us to move. I've seen many contracts wherein the submissive is required to transfer ownership of all her worldly goods, including her investments and real estate, to her Master. My Beloved refuses this and thus I retain ownership of the family home.

Due to kids, dogs, financial structure within my life etc I dont think I would relocate unless I was 100% sure of someone.... and as I dont think I could ever be so sure, I guess im stuck here in sunny Manchester lol Plus my dogs eat furniture so no one would have them anyway lol

I would ONLY relocate for love. Nothing less would be worth it.That is, unless that job offer in Austrulia comes up, then I may relocate for that if I am not completly, head over heels in love.

Personaly i have to much going on to Move Im a student and cant leave the school Im in as well as the fact that Im very close with my family and they are all in NY. can I ask a question?? Why is it that it only asks if a sub will relocate?? Why cant the Dom relocate??

Hello A/all, As a probationary union longshoreman, I am not in a position to relocate anywhere which is prohibitively far from Los Angeles Harbor. Additionally, my self-defense organization exists in relatively few other cities in the country. Sinergy

I have relocated...from California to Connecticut and another time to Colorado. Sure, given the right circumstances, I'd relocate. But, I look before I leap... oh...and that is directed at anybody reading the thread [:)]

i am going to relocate. not too far, a mere 136 miles. . . and my ksa's travel well. however, if i did own my own home, i might be a little more hesitant to move.

Fast Reply I would relocate in a heartbeat, except I am caring for a terminally ill father and my mother will need lots of help when he passes. So I just make a lot of trips instead. He does not relocate because he has an established life and business where he lives. I make a lot of trips because in our circumstance my schedule is more flexible, plus I love going to him when he beckons. It is my job to make his life easier - why would I expect him to drive 2 hours when I can do that??
