fenix3 -> New to M/s, seeking information. (1/3/2012 2:44:56 PM)

Hi. I just recently came to the realisation that I am a sexually dominant man who fits best with submissive women after having a series of long chats with a female (submissive) friend. It suddenly hit me after all this time that there was, if you will, a protocol for a certain kind of behaviour or lifestyle, one I very much want to learn more about.

A question for you: are there any resources, anywhere on the net, where I can find good, reliable information on M/s? Or even here, in these message boards? I've been trying to find such information, but have not as yet been able to locate it. Thanks.

Welcome to the discussion side of CM....

While there are some books and websites available, Master and I have basically defined our M/s roles for ourselves to fit us. Each relationship is different. There are many who would say I'm not submissive enough to be a slave.

There are a few books out there that might work for you. The Loving Dominant is a good one to start with.

Checkout the booklist: http://www.collarchat.com/m_1726118/tm.htm

Stick around the forums. Notice which posters make sense to you and who you should disregard. There's lots of good info here.

Welcome!

Lots of good information on M/s here if you just read the boards. You will quickly discover there is no one way. Since we are all individuals we all have different needs, the lifestyles we choose also vary.

For example, you said you are sexually dominant. In my relationship our sexual life is really rather vanilla. Our power exchange is done outside the bedroom as a part of our daily life.

You can also read various books on the subject. SM 101, A Different Loving, Screw the Roses..., and The Loving Dominant are a few of the better written books.

Greetings and welcome to CM, fenix. Others have already said most of what I would have said, so I'll only add a little.. Defnitely read a variety of books, get a feel for the different styles and ideals. Try different lifestyle boards as well.. The group here seems pretty diverse, yet most groups have their own "flavor" and ideas about what is what, what the rules and protocols are or should be, etc. Finally, you see that big cyan button over there? Whatever you do, don't press it. It's just not worth it, seriously.

Ah a weegie? Welcome, welcome..

My advice would be to get yourself established at a local munch (check out Informed Consent for local listings in your area) and come onto the boards, lurk, post, and start threads to ask questions.

You'll probably find General BDSM, Ask A Master and Ask A Submissive the most interesting sections. Off Topic is where you get non-BDSM serious stuff and sometimes not so serious stuff.

You'll notice a contingent of American female submissives. Try not to upset a couple of them, but the rest are generally very helpful and friendly, as are others on the boards who aren't American, female and/or submissive.

You can be yourself, be silly, be whoever. If you are into American politics you can venture into Politics and Religion. Avoid spending too much time in there though, as you'll end up as nutty as some of the right wingers down there who don't post anywhere else.

But overall there's a good bunch here and you're coming in at a good time.

And once again welcome.
