If the government didnt waste as much money as it does, didnt buy votes for dirty politicians, buy golden hammers and bridges to nowhere etc etc etc there would be no need to push for confiscatory tax rates

popeye1250 -> RE: Obama phones it in... (12/28/2011 9:13:30 PM)

Mr Rogers, "75%" of our military who are making political contributions are sending them to Ron Paul's campaign, more than any other campaign by far.
(Google it.)

which is exactly why i am not a proponent of raising taxes on anyone, rich, poor or in-between... No one gets the value they should for the $$$$$$$ they give govt... (on all levels!)

I did. From the New York Times:

This year, Paul has 10 times the individual donations - totaling $113,739 - from the military as does Mitt Romney. And he has a hundred times more than Newt Gingrich, who sat out the Vietnam War with college deferments and now promises he would strike foes at the slightest provocation.

So you're talking about a *total* of $133,739. That's not even coffee money in an election, and shows more than the military is supporting Paul that they aren't making many contributions at all, except for a handful who like Paul. In a military of 2,221,500, that's an average of 6 cents apiece. Not exactly strong support...

"You really shouldn't be talking about the way others post."

So when did god make this one in charge of telling people what to do?

Or for that matter, exclusively talking only about how others post and then saying that?

It`s like a super super dry comedy act.

And did you all see how she tried to reason with the neo-con? Like she was born yesterday or just finished a 20 nap.[sm=m23.gif]

FR -

popeye posted this in another thread, and I feel that its even more relevant here in this thread:

Remember when Obama said,.......................he'd never raise the debt ceiling?

mnottertail -> RE: Obama phones it in... (12/29/2011 11:26:30 AM)

You're right.   He didn't say it.  So its real topical in that is it as unfactual here as there.

Thanks for pointing that one out, theres another one we are all going to immediately dismiss as irrelevant.

Lucylastic -> RE: Obama phones it in... (12/29/2011 11:27:07 AM)

anything to hide the fact that your OP fell flat where it belongs, now you have to derail,
what a shame
cant keep it to one thread you have to share it?
Scuse me for laughing

Sanity -> RE: Obama phones it in... (12/29/2011 11:38:47 AM)

What falls flat is how Obama in 2006 railed against Bush for raising the debt ceiling (as per the video)

Hes a changed man now... for he is railing against Republicans for resisting the raise... [:D]

Can anyone on the left honestly answer this question - does anyone who is behind raising the debt ceiling intend to ever pay this debt back? Because the interest on this debt is killing us, borrowing at this level of debt vs. gdp is literally insanity

Lucylastic -> RE: Obama phones it in... (12/29/2011 11:46:10 AM)

if the 2007 recession and resulting clusterfuck hadnt happpened, we would all be saying "different".
But it did
It wasnt down to him.
Now YOU have hanged your view since 2006 cos you were kissing bushes behind until the run up to the last election... so whats YOUR excuse?
BTW this really has NOTHING TO do with the current faux pas of a post
stop changing goalposts n stick to the OP
admit you made an error in judgement maybe?

Fast Reply

It seems some clarification was asked for.

Post on the subject material and not about a poster. I do not believe that is difficult to understand.

No, thats pure strawman lucy, I never supported  Bushs big liberal spending habits, ever

Its too bad he wasnt a fiscal Conservative, really

Just like its too bad that Obama isnt the fiscal conservative that he promised us that he is either

And the topic is Obamas calling for an increase in the spending limit, go back and reread the OP and the article I linked to in it if you need to

oh Sanity, you never EVER put him down until it was clear what was going on, then you dropped him like a bag of fleas ridden ass monkeys
Not strawman, at all, there is actually cm forum proof of your fawning
This was not about obama calling for something
this was about it having been decided and a fact of "record" not something new, or something unexpected
YOU were wrong in your premise and yet, cannot admit to such, just change goalposts and derail to obscure your mistake

Funny, wasnt the AIG bailout under the first TARP?

Hmmm

quote:

In September, 2008 the Big Three asked for $50 billion to pay for health care expenses and avoid bankruptcy and ensuing layoffs, and Congress worked out a 25$ billion loan

Maybe a bit of truth might help, T.
