No.  I hold them to a higher standard because they talk about it more.

If I have a job applicant that talks about how much he knows SQL, I will expect him to know it better than someone who doesn't boast about SQL.  If Wal Mart claims to have low prices, I will expect them to have lower prices than, say, Sears.

I expect marketing to have some basis in truth.  Likewise, I've never gotten over the GOP holding themselves up as champions of fiscal discipline when they cut taxes alongside of hiking spending, and when Bush kept the wars off the official books so their impact couldn't be easily seen.
