Status: offline 		Apparently the latest tactic for OWS in Seattle and Portland is to find vacant, supposedly foreclosed on houses to "occupy".  Or trespass in, depending on your point of view.

From this article, it appears that the anarchist part of the movement is responsible for this, and they have extended their anger beyond banks to "landlords".  I guess is you are a landlord, you MUST be part of the 1%

As much as I want to try to be supportive of this movement, it looks like its lack of focus will now be its undoing.  Trespassing and defacing private property is also not likely to gain the support of most of the 99%.

Status: offline 		Theres a group in Toronto that has done the same, they moved(squatted) in an old food bank location, but are using their lawyers to try to become the legal tenant.
I dont know how different the actual reality is going to be,
Another group has taken over aan abandoned bank building again supposedly trying to get to become legal tennants
of course wether this is true or not will depend on who you listen to and believe.
I hope they can get the legal tenant status, but I dont see governments, banks or landlords giving up the ability to deny or suck them for everything they have to ensure they dont get it.
I dont see anyof them getting permission and the permits, or required docs, simply because they cant be seen condoning the movement

Yep, there are groups who act independent of the local groups GA. Even the cops get it's a small group acting on their own.
  The other night I watched four little thugs who just walked up to the scene of the LA Stand off and threw a few bottles of the beer they bought at a package store a few blocks away. they got arrested. An hour later, I watched the officer in charge of the Police Detail and several of his reports speaking with the facilitators in a very friendly, cooperative manner. He himself said "We know you folks have no ill intent and there are a lot of us who don't want to be here. And very few who disagree with what you're trying to do"
   So are people doing things the reast of the group doesn't approve of, but it's probably better than the Tea Party could sustain if they didn't have a Kock Bros. Chartered bus to hop on right after the speakers are gone. Or if they had to stay out there to be taken seriously. Since it was a co-opting of votes from the beginning, they didn't have to do anything but show up for a photo op that was well-orchestrated.

Don't know about seattle or portland but the City of Cleveland would welcome them with open arms if they occupied some of the vacant houses in the city. We got a few....
