Cain's lawyer Lin Wood told the station it "appears to be an accusation of private, alleged consensual conduct between adults - a subject matter which is not a proper subject of inquiry by the media or the public."

Wow.  Just wow.  No better way to say he's guilty.

Yeah, I read that earlier and thought the SAME thing... especially given Cain himself flat out DENIED any romantic involvement in a video clip I saw during an interview with Wolf Blitzer?!!!

If I was Cain, I'd be finding a new damn lawyer. With an advocate like that, you don't need enemies.

tazzygirl -> RE: Claims of affair emerge, Cain discusses quitting (11/28/2011 7:39:11 PM)

What bothered me more was.. who wasnt talking to whom?

Cain says one thing... he lawyer says another.

Why hire counsel if you dont take his advice... or dont bother to ask his advice?

Isn`t that exactly what the situation was with Bill Clinton?

Not really, no. Clinton was a Democrat, so he had to be guilty. Cain is a Repuke, so obviously he's innocent and everyone who's made an allegation against him is a liar.
See how simple it is?

Not really, no. Clinton was a Democrat, so he had to be guilty. Cain is a Repuke, so obviously he's innocent and everyone who's made an allegation against him is a liar and a racist.

Had to fix that for you, Moon. Hope you dont mind. [:D]

So, it pays to hound dog them women, stand on any streetcorner in manhattan, solicit a blowjob from every woman that walks by, and by god, it's a numbers game, slap after slap after slap and sooner or later you' re gonna get one that says, "sure."

I have faith in god that's true, examine your sigline.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Claims of affair emerge, Cain discusses quitting (11/29/2011 6:26:30 AM)

Too bad his lawyer already pretty much blew it for him. What a grandstanding idiot.

kalikshama -> RE: Claims of affair emerge, Cain discusses quitting (11/29/2011 6:27:03 AM)

Ya, she'll get some cash out of the accusation. Her motives don't make her allegations any less true.

Does this sound like the behavior of someone who WASN'T having an affair? (From your link:)

...WAGA reported that White provided documentation to support her claims, including cell phone records indicating calls and texts from Cain, some in the early morning hours. White also claimed Cain flew her to different cities and lavished her with gifts.

...An attorney for White told WAGA that Cain had also provided financial support to White when she fell on hard times.

...Cain's attorney, Lin Wood, provided WAGA with a statement before the broadcast saying White's claim "appears to be an accusation of private, alleged consensual conduct between adults -- a subject matter which is not a proper subject of inquiry by the media or the public."

tazzygirl -> RE: Claims of affair emerge, Cain discusses quitting (11/29/2011 6:44:48 AM)

Oh and then there is something about her getting

Hell, we get one anytime we forget the payment. Pft.. its a form letter they all send out. They still have to take you to court. Consider it a reminder letter.

Lucylastic -> RE: Claims of affair emerge, Cain discusses quitting (11/29/2011 7:17:27 AM)

If she can pull up even a years cellphone (not just four months) records with him calling and texts it doesnt matter what her reason is. I wonder if she has a "batterspattered" dress in her closet?

Moonhead -> RE: Claims of affair emerge, Cain discusses quitting (11/29/2011 7:29:38 AM)

Maybe she feels that's passe?
(No idea why the onus of proof should be on her rather than Cain anyway: it certainly wasn't on Monica or the idiot with the rape allegations that got thrown out of court doublequick, was it?)

Lucylastic -> RE: Claims of affair emerge, Cain discusses quitting (11/29/2011 7:35:59 AM)

well she gave em a bunch yesterday showing his number but... of course there could be ANY reason for her calling him :) *setting him up"
blackmail, altho I think he would have used that already.
Im well aware that all stories have three sides, or more depending on who is involved, but the supporters arent gonna believe anything until he admits it.
So it was said with a healthy side of tongue in cheek:)
And am I wrong for wishing this had come out after he got the nomination?
yeah that would be bad wouldnt it.

He did say he was "helping" her....financially....

What guy doesn`t give his gumada money?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Read a piece in redstate theorizing that Cain couldn`t have messed with those women b/c they`re were ugly and restaurant industry is flush with really pretty women.
Do ya get that logic,folks?
Nice bunch over there......real class and charm...[8|]
Moonhead -> RE: Claims of affair emerge, Cain discusses quitting (11/29/2011 7:43:36 AM)
It is a bit bad, but I always wished Steve Milligan had suffered his autoerotic fatality after he became leader of the Conservative party (I think the only reason Hague got that was because Milligan had croaked), so I can relate.
As for Cain's supporters, they still won't believe anything even if he does 'fess up to everything. (Which he won't, will he?) These are people who seriously think Clinton was a rapist over some thoroughly debunked allegations an attention seeker invented...
I have a male friend who I have known for years, who you would find over a years worth of calls and texts in my log from. He is my best friend and we always hang out when he is in town, we both stay up really late sometimes, so you will see texts occasionally at odd hours.
At the times when I am broke, he often pays when we go out to eat, or do something, since as he puts it "he wants to eat where he wants to eat, not just where I can afford"(such hate against mickeyDs!)
None of this means I ever have sex with him.
Though he does get several stargate episodes worth of massage on occasion.
So none of what this women claims as proof seems like proof to me.
I am not a fan of Cain, but the credibility of the women accusing him is kinda fishy, since my opinion of politicians in general is low enough I can see other ones paying these women to make accusations. And these women seem to need the money.
And what the woman screaming sexual harassment is claiming just seems way to overt.
