Let's face it, most of the laws and punishments are ill-suited to the crimes in the States. A rapist serves less time than a drug dealer. A murderer gets to live. People who victimize women and children can still get paroled. Meanwhile we can't even execute people properly. We're so tied up in trying to make it sterile, we forget that we can use a rope all damn day, and tidy up our overcrowded prison system by giving anyone sentenced to fifteen or more a death sentence. Seriously, if what you did deserves fifteen years or more, fuck you and the horse you rode in on. Let me get the rope, this will only take a second.

Oh...just thought of another person I know who was sexually abused by a teacher, no touching or anything physical...just looking and the kids knew it. This was in another country btw. The person I know carries crap from this around in his psyche too. If these incidents ever come in in a talk between us, the sheer rage on his face and in his voice is numbing to see. My friend has told me if he ever saw the teacher who did this to him on the street he'd wipe him off the face of the earth before thinking about it, he wouldnt' be able to control himself. Knowing how deeply he feels about being abused I can't help but feel the principal in this example did indeed get off lightly and had better watch his back when he does get out.

FR Where is all this outrage when a preist does it ? I also wonder just how many people get away with it. If you know anything about the US you know that they only bust maybe half of the people who do shit. They keep the rest in line with cop shows, touting the most modern crime solving methods, when in reality if your house gets robbed you got a 1 in 100 chance of them even thinking of breaking out the fingerprint kit. Same goes for your car. Their attitude is fukit, let the insurance pay it. Ever got beat up ? I know personally unless they got a personal reason or you got bulletholes in you, they just don't care. Tell them who did it, they are not usually going to drop everything and sikem right that minute. Usually. Get raped and they assume you know who did it even if you don't say so. They just don't do forensics and CSI much unless they think it's going to lead somewhere, and that is not to make you happy. What if senators do it, and did anyone check Monica Lewinski's ID ? I mean just what weere the prerequisites for this job ? Don't get me wrong, I think teachers and priincipals who do this shit should be slammed hard, but it's really not the biggest case of abuse of authority in history, to say the least. T^T

Sometimes, what they did to get that much time was nothing more than who they were born too. Yep, the system isn't perfect. People get falsely accused, arrested and prosecuted frequently enough. A white man gets into a fight he gets probation, a black man gets three years. I'm not saying it's right, but even with those kinds of errors, I'd still rather see our CJ system administrated more efficiently.

Becauise they will execute the wrong people. Talk about violating trust ? In China there is a government agency that regulates drugs. The head of this department took a bribe to approve a drug and several people died. The executed him. In this country he would get a bonus check. So understand perfectly that I do believe that a hell of alot of people need to be killed. Sans the pretense of civility I don't even think you should have to kill someone to get the axe - literally. Not as a deterrent eiher, I am not making that argument at all whether it has merit or not. What I am saying is that we must remove certain elements of our society for the good of all, like surgically removing a cancerous tumor from the body. But no way we should let the government handle it, they would fuck up a wet dream and I thnk they do this on purpose. Who is left, the people ? I don't think so, if I were on trial I am not so sure I would want a jury. It depends on the case actually, and whether or not I was guilty. You can pull a pretty fucked up jury and the way it's played it is still stacked against you no matter what. It's true about being born into a good or bad spot. Bleck people are really fucked over. I was "on vacation" a couple of times and you get to talking and all I can think is " they gave you that many months for what ? ". And a fine too ! I found it hard to beieve but after enough stories and seeing a few things happen in court, I believe. I also believe that there are a hell of alot more innocent people in jail than I used to think. Whether it's an unscrupulous prosecutor or getting railroaded into copping a plea, the system is not working correctly. So this is no hijack speaking of the death penalty, sentences of decades are just as bad on the indiviual, probably worse. When you're dead it's over which could be preferable to getting out of the joint at 75 years old and finding most of your family and friends dead. No way to make a living even with skills in the case of a molester or something, noone will hire you no matter what and there are places you aren't allowed to live. So maybe it's worth the money to make the prick wish he was dead, but that's in a case without any doubt of guilt. There are too many other cases just pushed through the system. So if you don't trust the "just us" system with the death penalty, why trust it with anything else ? T^T

^^^^ What he said. Some people just need killing. AND... Tho' many may bristle at the following statement, so be it. I will NEVER sit on a jury, considering how many times I have been misunderstood, misinterpreted, misjudged, and as a result, mistreated. If I was not there to personally witness/hear an event, I will not risk doing the same to others. Even if I was, I will always take into account that my own world view, perceptions, and frames of representation may not match theirs. Too many people have too many agendas of different kinds, and simply cannot be honest, fair and just. Perhaps I would willingly sit jury for an obvious serial killer, etc., but as for the rest of the stuff.....NO!
