The Republican party booted him for not kowtowing to the industrial leaders of the time. He then formed the Bull Moose party and was the only 3rd party candidate in history to finish as high as second in a pres race defeating the Republican nominee. (The Dems won that one)

Yes Firm, Teddy....I mean damm what could possibly give you the idea that I am not aware Franklin was a Democrat......lol. I'm sort of a junkie,political and historical.....in a lay man's sort of way of course....lol

Not necessary Hill,certainly not in these here parts...it is after all P and R,most of us are conversant enough with the material to know which Roosevelt one is talking about when one mentions conservatism and National Parks [:)]

Not only has he been consistent, his message of sensible foreign policy and fiscal conservatism (which his plan shows) ranks him pretty well now in Iowa and NH. Once he wins Iowa and I think he will, he'll begin to surge in other primary states as well.

Anyway, I saw Paul being "left out" again so I felt the need to add him. :) Later. BTW Newt has a long history of ethics issues and flip flopping..
