Status: offline 		"Two-thirds of the Republican freshmen who captured Democratic-held seats in the GOP's 2010 takeover of the U.S. House of Representatives saw their fundraising dip in the past quarter, campaign-finance reports show.

Several of the new incumbents, including Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar, in a rematch with former congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick, have been significantly outraised by their challengers. In addition, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee took in nearly twice as much campaign cash as House Republicans in September — a sign Democratic donors are energized, despite low poll rankings for Congress and President Obama.

Democrats need 25 seats to retake control of the House after losing more than 60 to Republicans last year in a wave of voter anger with Washington.

And they'll need about 45 more to retake control in 2014.

and the ones that havent been recalled have dropped in popularity by about what 37 %?

In spite of President Obama`s low rating,the GOP`s are even lower.

Advantage democrats.

Status: offline 		I don't know how much weight you can put into polls like these, especially for races without a Republican primary. For those races, the fundraising won't really heat up until after the new year.

Moreover they fail to distinguish "support" from "desperation". Like the Paulies who can throw money bombs till their fingers turn green, it still wont get him the nomination.

The thing with polls is Bantha, they are used by both sides here to needle the other, there are arguments about who is reliable, who isnt, etc etc every couple of months.
Most of us do actually realise that the results are what really matter, but it doesnt stop the "bitching" or the posturing
Childish, but so much in this section is
and yes.. that includes both sides, and the independents aint much better

I usually go by realclearpolitics. It tends to take the averages of most of the polls. I think that provides a better picture... not perfect, but better than just one poll over another.

Status: offline 		Our local congressman (R) who took his seat from an incumbent Republican is having a hard time. (Noone around this immediate area bothers to seriously run as a Democrat)

Status: offline 		That article was awful.  It talked about July-to-September increases, and then the quarter-on-quarter comparisons.Then it threw in some anecdotal evidence.

I'm not accusing USAToday of bias, just of not knowing how to report meaningful statistics.

Status: offline 		I would expect, in the aftermath of Citizen's United, that the RNC, Republican congressional campaigns committees and GOP candidates will raise significantly less money than Democrats. The GOP's money will go into the super PACs which ignore what little control the FEC has.
