Love the boots but do they must be all high heel? Some of us can't wear them because of pain issues. <sad face>

It's chronic pain in my hip and knee - perversely opposite hip and knee. I would love to get a pair of thigh or knee-high boots but it's not worth the pain.

Yeah it does. It's difficult to find stylish boots and shoes in a lower heel, oh hell lately it's hard to find footwear with a lower heel PERIOD. On the other end of the spectrum no heel is just as bad for me, a 1/2-1 inch heel is ideal.

Platforms?

Sadly no. Look day to day I'm fine with the faux-Uggs I wear. It's just that every once in a while I would like to look hot - without having to balance on 8-inch heels. Unfortunately whoever designs those boots don't take into account that not everyone can wear them.

Fortunately I've read that the nasty, super high, platform trashy hooker look is on the way OUT.

I adore shoes like nobodies business but too much of what has been popular the last few years just looks......like shit. Extremely over priced shit.

Neimans has some great stuff right now, especially in riding boot styles.

i dunno, for me, sometimes it seems like the heels aren't high enough. =p but i don't really go to a lot of high end places. k-mart has stupidly cute shoes and boots right now, and the heels are generally low (but maybe i'm unclear because i wear a lot of stilettos =p)

platforms have never looked good on me; being short, i want to elongate all the lines, and platforms chunkify everything (at least to me). plus they make me feel unstable. i normally walk on the balls of my feet anyway because i spent so much time running around without shoes. single-sole heels feel like that, to me -- they feel normal. i can run in them, whatever, no problem.
but a platform cuts me off from feedback from the ball of my foot, which makes me really uncomfortable. i can't feel the ground, and i feel like i'm floating.
single-soled stiletto heels, or flat "shit kickers" as LafayetteLady calls them (thanks for the vocab addition =p) are what i generally prefer. if i am wearing boots out and about in town, i'll go with something with a chunkier stacked heel, just for longevity of wear.

I'm going into a trance looking at all this
beautiful boot porn.
I like a high , skinny heel. If you can stand,
crawl and lay in them you've got your moneys
worth. All boots aren't made for walking.
That red pair is crazy sick beautiful.

I haven't shopped the site in awhile but Steve Madden usually does a fairly good job of knocking off the ridiculously expensive (like $1,000.00ish) for a more realistic price. They are still decent quality, leather, etc.......but for A LOT less money. I've gotten several pairs from his website and been pleased. One thing I must caution......read the reviews. Some styles can run smaller, bigger, tighter or looser in the calf etc.... my black boots were tight in the calf last year but now fit perfectly due to smaller calves. However, if I was a runner or plus size, I would have had to return them. That was something that was explained in the reviews and description however, so careful shopping is advised. No one wants to pay more shipping that necessary!

Amazon also has a nice selection of shoes in all price ranges. Just take the time to research before purchase.

I don't normally go for ankle boots but I have this one. It's from a line by annoying Selena Gomez, but it's just so cute, and was on some kind of stupid super-sale, so... yeah...
They look really cute with leg warmers or tights. =p

I've found some great flat boots, but it isn't easy.

With my back injury and the problems with my ankle I'm not supposed to wear heels at all. Can cause MAJOR additional pain issue. There are times, although very few, where I just have to wear the heel or I look inappropriate for the occasion.

Technically, according to most podiatrists, no one should be wearing most of the boots here, but those red ones are just so gorgeous aren't they? I figure they are for times when you will sit in a chair or whatever and not have to move around, lol.
