... just film wizardry?

soul2share -> RE: Is this real, or... (11/10/2011 10:39:27 PM)

got me....and I don't speak French, so I have no idea if he's even explaining it. The eyeball looks like the real deal......I quit watching after that.

Termyn8or -> RE: Is this real, or... (11/10/2011 11:33:40 PM)

I seen this twenty years ago. I have been through all of it and have drawn a conclusion. I must base that on something and that is whether tissue is indeed solid.

I've seen this shit for the last thirty years so just listen up and then draw your own conclusion. The eyeball thing doesn't mean shit, you know what does. It's the assertion that the human hand can go through the human body. This is far fetched indeed, but I don't think it is impossible.

Over the years many people have tried to disprove this, and some have succeeded. There were a shitload of charlatains who wanted to cash in on this, and the debunkers basically debunked most of them to death. However there is a different story out there for those who are interested.

Cell walls in the body have some very interesting characteristics. To start, the skin is the largest organ of the human body. You can tear human skin with your fingers, and if you do it this way, there is not much blood. However this assertion that they are drawing out poison and shit so not likely to be correct. We wish poisons would accumulate in one part of the body because we would just have that cut out every few months. It doesn't work that way plus the fact that is they are all sitting there in one place they are not doing what they are supposed to do, poisoning our organs etc. And the poisons are all over the place, stem to stern.

I believe that there is perhaps a technique by which the human hand can be used to penetrate the human skin. However I doubt that even if you find someone who could do that, it would od you any good. You got lung cancer or some shit, or who knows what, I don't think bleedong a few ounces of gook out of you will cure you.

Note now that I could be wrong. Remember I do not dismiss much at all, but this is a bit far out, and for some difficult to prove.

It's very suspiscious how their hands always obscure the view of the opening for one (for the last thirty years). While I can accept that it is a spiritual thing for them, I can't believe that NOT ONCE some westerner hasn't grabbed them by the neck to see what was really going on. All bloody shit aroung the room analysed and seen whose DNA it was. Is it some humor or tumor from this guy or some calf fat ?

And actually, if this shit really does work, do you think they would tell us ?

"Psychic Surgery" has been debunked a bunch of times all ready starting back in the 80's. I think "The Amazing Randy" was one of the first.

littlewonder -> RE: Is this real, or... (11/11/2011 6:01:30 AM)

It's fake. This is a sham that is pulled off usually in the India and Africa by witch doctors who try to steal money from the poor for their "healing powers".

MasterG2kTR -> RE: Is this real, or... (11/11/2011 6:16:04 AM)

Termy, Hill, & LW got it right....it's a fake/scam bunch of bullshit. These hucksters have been around for decades. It's nothing more than slight of hand "surgery". Hill nailed it best when he mentioned "The Amazing Randy" as being one of the first to publicly debunk it.

Old memories fail but didn't he actually perforn "Psychic surgery" on the tonight show and then show how it was done?

GreedyTop -> RE: Is this real, or... (11/11/2011 6:20:39 AM)

next to the link provided in the OP is another link debunking psychic surgery (unmasked? I think it was called..or at least that was the name of the program that did it).

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Is this real, or... (11/11/2011 6:21:48 AM)

it's a scam;  it's a bloody piece of animal tissue that they have secreted in their hand -- like a magician with a hidden card.
some people do say "oh, all of my tumors were gone!" -- but you never see them doing it anywhere but the belly. couldn't they do it on the back, or shoulder, or leg? but your stomach is soft and easiest to smoosh around, and easier to fool the eye to think you're actually penetrating it.

littlewonder -> RE: Is this real, or... (11/11/2011 6:22:10 AM)

He's been on quite a few shows showing how almost all of those are done...sleight of hand. He goes to these countries now and shows the poor people how it's done so they don't continue to fall for it.

Really, it's just a bit more sophisticated than those TV preachers. Tune in some Ernest Angley for some real laughs.

The unfunny thing about it is that there is alot to discover about using the power of the mind over the body, but for a few bucks these shysters make anything that doesn't involve modern chemistry or tools look like bullshit. Makes it damn hard to believe anything, for example the "fake" knee surgery mentioned in another thread. They actually took patients who were about to undergo knee surgery and just made them think they had the surgery, with pretty good results. A bit more complex indication of the placebo effect.

So the debunkers get all happy and even debunk Joel Wallach, who BTW was dead on the fucking money about at least 80% of what he claimed.

You brought back memories there Termy.

My old college roommate was a devout aetheist but he'd wake me up at 2 AM if 'Ernie" was on. We kinda kept track and there were some people with huge travel budgets and a lot of ailments. This week, in LA, he would be healing the same guy of gout that was blind in Cleveland last week. Well, you folks get the idea. That old shyster is still on getting little old ladies to send part of their social security checks to him too.

I think he did or showed film of him
debunking it in I think the Philipines.
When Carson died, Randi wrote a lovely
tribute to him. He revealed that Carson
often gave money to help keep Skeptic
magazine afloat and in his will left money
to one of the foundations who work to
expose charlatans.
Carson started out as a magician like
Randi and of course Houdini. Magicians
knowing about sleight of hand and other
kinds of flim flam see it readily for what
it is.
Randi is taking on psychics these days.
Sylvia Browne, John Rdwards and James
van Praagh most prominently.

It's a debunking video, and nothing that would make anyone squeamish.
