Hi folks- Wifi streaming of internet radio w/headphone jack and web surfing/email are all it needs to do. No phone, cam, camera, movies, or huge storage needed (though sd/micro sd card slot would be nice.) Small screen is preferred. I've seen them as low as $68 and as high as the sky...there are always crappy reviews no matter what it is so researching gets overwhelming. $150 max. Do you have one you just love?

Hopefully someone can recommend something they've been happy with, but I'd personally be wary of anything in that price range. There will be some compromises at those prices and some of the negative reviews just might be justified. Not that some owners haven't found good uses for cheap tablets, of course. :) At $49 more than your stated maximum budget, I'd seriously consider looking at the Kindle Fire. I imagine it's more likely to deliver a satisfactory experience. Good luck finding something!

android platform: 1- Galaxy Tap " with your own choice of price" (its the same as Ipad but more speed & storage) 2- Galaxy S or SII (with phone) if you would. Windows phone platform: 1- HTC " HD7" what ever you chose, I really really recommend the (android) running devices

I'm really happy with my Nook Color... wifi, books, movies, books, youtube, books, email, books, web browser, books... Not really a tablet computer but really good for portable media. For real computing in a tablet form I like the Fujitsu convertible tablets... use as laptop or tablet depending on what you want to do. Stefan
