Admit what, Lucy? That Ken and I disagree? The sources I have for what I've said don't lend themselves to an internet discussion on a kink site, any more than Ken is likely to give us his case and social worker's phone numbers so we can verify his moot comment above. I'm talking about minority status being given a value in competitive applications within the myriad of state/county/local programs, and the non-governmental organizations they pass off taxpayer cash to. He'd love to get away from that, and do his little dance about the feds.
So. This point is in contention, let's table it, and get back to the tree it was cherrypicked from. The argument was that racial divisions and discrimination are perpetuated within society by institutionalizing preferences. Other examples were in hiring standards, and educational benefits. Such practices breed both resentment on one side, and entitlement on the other.
The OP asserts that it is a contradiction to believe both that we have issues with racial division in this country, and that we have gone too far in government programs to try correcting that. I say that this is because he cannot see that the two are not synonymous.
Now I have every intention of getting dragged off into the weeds, tied up, and toyed with for a good chunk of the afternoon, but it ain't happening online. [:D]
