I used to get on that alot. Originally I used the download from altairboy's website but later I figured our how to extract the actual program from the frame, it was JS. I grabbed it, renamed it to HTM and it worked for years and got rid of the banners. I DID use it on XP but I am not sure when. I stopped, and I really don't know why.
But you got choices of how to get into irc, one is irc, which I think is a little more entailed. The other option is to use a Java client. You MUST dowload this from Sun Microsystems over in Sweden, no where else. There are too many viruses out there.
If you get the client and it cages you in a window, in IE 6 or older you can right click (the text window part) and save file as, let is save, like I said as js. Then you rename it HTM and it will open IE and take you IMMEDIATELY to irc with no banners and shit. In Windows Explorer you throw it in the "Favorites" directory.
I SHOULD still have this program and I could easily send it to you except that I do not have it anymore. Ask me why I hate fucking computers.
I would really rather fuck one of the Women around here, in fact Alpha is looking pretty good...........
