ok this was supposed to quote lucy....maybe i need to learn which key to hit. no offense stranger...meant for lucy
under 9-9-9 no one will have income tax ....we will all pay tax on what we buy...and would have more $$$ to buy shit with no payroll tax

every other country in the world has consumption taxes

and VA has food tax as well

no one will have income tax....check your facts

Im so sorry, What part of the 999 plan did you miss
From herman cains own website
Business Flat Tax – 9%
Gross income less all investments, all purchases from other businesses and all dividends paid to shareholders.
Empowerment Zones will offer additional deductions for payroll employed in the zone.
Individual Flat Tax – 9%.
Gross income less charitable deductions.

Empowerment Zones will offer additional deductions for those living and/or working in the zone.
National Sales Tax – 9%.
This gets the Fair Tax off the sidelines and into the game.

Now...its ME who cant get my facts right?

You've mentioned several times your support for a flat tax. How do you feel about the 999 plan? Personally, I think it's a step in the right direction, but full of pitfalls. There's a reason flat tax schemes have never really gotten out of the box. Namely, that government is too big to do anything in a simple manner without exposing the ugly truth of how much money we actually funnel into the system.

The reason why I dont support VAT is because of the unanswered questions regarding what it replaces and how. And from Lucy's link, the 999 seems to still promote the belief of one set getting more relief than another.

Its not even the income tax.... where is the money to support Medicare and SS coming from? Or is this the first step to ending those. Too many questions with no answers.

And the only deduction, if I am reading your post right, is for charitable donations for individuals, but businesses get to write off many things?

Yeah, but Sans claims it's because of liberals - maybe because they're using so much liquid potpourri or something, I dunno.

Petulance, it's never actually stopped anybody from doing it - offshore drilling perhaps, but as the recent BP episode demonstrates, there is something funky if they have to go to all that expense and trouble to begin with.

Peak Oil baby, I don't know if you heard, but they stopped making it a couple of billion years ago, it's a finite quantity.

There are alternatives, oil isn't he only form of energy, it's just the only form of energy largely controlled by conservatives.

And, it's what's propping up the dollar, but it isn't sacred, it has no practical significance as a form of energy among other forms of energy, other than it's convenient - when it's convenient.

You just have a dependency problem, you can't handle the burden of self sufficiency, so sad.

Let alone defense. There are phases according to his site, but the 999 plan...not so much
Phase 1 - 9-9-9
http://www.hermancain.com/999plan

Current circumstances call for bolder action.
The Phase 1 Enhanced Plan incorporates the features of Phase One and gets us a step closer to Phase two.
I call on the Super Committee to pass the Phase 1 Enhanced Plan along with their spending cut package.
The Phase 1 Enhanced Plan unites Flat Tax supporters with Fair tax supporters.
Achieves the broadest possible tax base along with the lowest possible rate of 9%.
It ends the Payroll Tax completely – a permanent holiday!
Zero capital gains tax
Ends the Death Tax.

Eliminates double taxation of dividends
Business Flat Tax – 9%
Gross income less all investments, all purchases from other businesses and all dividends paid to shareholders.
Empowerment Zones will offer additional deductions for payroll employed in the zone.
Individual Flat Tax – 9%.
Gross income less charitable deductions.
Empowerment Zones will offer additional deductions for those living and/or working in the zone.
National Sales Tax – 9%.
This gets the Fair Tax off the sidelines and into the game.
Phase 2 – The Fair Tax

Amidst a backdrop of the economic boom created by the Phase 1 Enhanced Plan, I will begin the process of educating the American people on the benefits of continuing the next step to the Fair Tax.
The Fair Tax would ultimately replace individual and corporate income taxes.
It would make it possible to end the IRS as we know it.
The Fair Tax makes our exported goods and services the most competitively internationally than any other tax system.
Phase 1 Enhanced Plan – Summary

Unites all tax payers so we all pay income taxes and no one pays payroll taxes
Provides the least incentive to evade taxes and the fewest opportunities to do so
Lifts a $430 billion dead-weight burden on the economy due to compliance, enforcement, collection, etc.
Is fair, neutral, transparent, and efficient
Ends nearly all deductions and special interest favors
Ends all payroll taxes
Ends the Death Tax
Features zero tax on capital gains and repatriated profits
Lowest marginal rates on production
Allows immediate expensing of business investments
Eliminates double taxation of dividends
Increases capital formation. Capital per worker drives productivity and wage growth
Capital formation will aid capital availability for small businesses
Features a platform to launch properly structured Empowerment Zones to revitalize our inner cities
We all know the Fed has tripled the money supply since 2008. They have been printing money out of thin air to finance the Obama spending machine. While true Fed reform that restores sound money may have to wait for my election, the best thing we can do now is to pursue policies that increase the DEMAND for dollars to help mitigate the risks associated with the increase in the supply.
Pro-growth economic policies equal a strong dollar policy

This is nonsensical at its core. While there may be printing presses running 24/7 it makes no difference in that regard, that money is not circulating. If we raise demand we raise inflation.

Course we couldn't raise demand without jobs. We are in a stagnation leaning towards a recession.

If anything tax the shit out of it, put the paper in a warehouse for replacement necessities, and deflate it. Anybody seen what a fuckin cheezeburger costs?

Thats gonna hurt us all.

Perhaps we should compare platforms of the Democrats, the Republicans, and the Libertarians; or any others. We can evaluate the merits of each principle and then cross these theories with prospects. We are Americans and we need leaders that put America first. That's not happening people.

I think we'll skip over your comment because it made too much sense. What's logic got to do with it.
