Hopefully, it was just an exceptionally crappy year. I am 2 weeks behind the rest of the county when it comes to my garden, so that is part of it. June was really cold here. July wasn't much better. Still, my 90 year old mother raises tomatoes in Billings MT, so I know it can be done.
Next year, I am getting the larger plants. Thanks for tip. I suppose I could do the walls of water things too, but there is only so much effort I want to put into this project.

It does help. The seedlings are much younger than the plants in the big planters. Also try and get toatoes bred for your climate zone and put them out as soon as the night time temp is reliably over 50 degrees.
