also, don't automatically discount people in the "vanilla" world.
not every person into bdsm hangs out on these sites and goes to munches, clubs, etc etc.
one of the best Doms i was ever with, i met under vanilla circumstances. we had tons in common, so i decided to give it a try, even though the bdsm aspect wasn't there.
on our first real date, he made a offhand comment about being dominant. i said, "oooh, i LIKE dominant men."
as we began to talk more, we realized we had a LOT more in common than we thought we did.
our relationship turned out to be the most satisfying bdsm one i have had thus far.
this man who doesn't run "with the scene" turned out to be an expert in MANY things.
had i stuck to a policy of only looking at people who are OPENLY into bdsm, i would have missed out on what will probably be one of the most fond relationships of my life.
