LOL The whining about the Pres air flights caused heart failure and strokes a few months ago,
now they are jusitifying Pauls
SNORTS that is the height of hypocrisy
much like the plonker who is upset about the umbrella holder

In the real world, when creating or enjoying wealth is considered a crime there wont be ANY jobs

In your world one leased jet creates many jobs?

Sanity -> RE: Jon Paul joins the private jet set. (9/21/2011 12:07:39 PM)

The problem with the Obamas' high flying expenditures is their hypocrisy

Barack calls Americans to 'sacrifice' and then the Obamas fly off on another one of their fabulously expensive overseas vacation...  only to come back and preach more sacrifice

Where is Pauls supposed hypocrisy

Hillwilliam -> RE: Jon Paul joins the private jet set. (9/21/2011 12:21:53 PM)

As long as the jet is flying, it doesn't matter a hell of a lot whether it was bought or leased. The leasing company bought it and someone had to build it and it is still accumulating wear and tear and depreciation.
There is also extensive maintenence that must be performed.
As long, of course, as it is an American made plane. If not, the manufacturing process benefitted someone else but maintenence, etc still benefits Americans.

I know that you learned everything you know about communism from Red Dawn and Rocky IV, but try to keep up, eh?
A postcapitalist system won't run on monetary exchange.

EternalHoH -> RE: Jon Paul joins the private jet set. (9/21/2011 1:24:56 PM)

The real irony is job creation courtesy of the private jet industry has its biggest cheerleaders in those who are broke and sitting behind a keyboard, those same broke people who just know that one day, their peasant yacht will rise, too, with the right tax cuts and pro-wealthy laws....

Now lookee here... I pray every day that all these republicans will find work so they are finally busy enough to stop hating the president

It's A Complex World....

Sanity -> RE: Jon Paul joins the private jet set. (9/21/2011 2:02:48 PM)

So in the far left la la land of the future, private jets will come streaming out of plump juicy government teats... and everyone will be equally wealthy, no matter how stupid, no matter how lazy [:D]

The OP is missing a few details...

Ron Paul's campaign has spent about $400,000 on travel expenses so far.
Mitt Romney's campaign has spent about $5,000,000 on travel expenses so far.
Rick Perry's travel expenses are sealed until after the 2012 election.

This is Orson Welles, ladies and gentlemen, out of character to assure you that The War of The Worlds has no further significance than as the holiday offering it was intended to be: the Mercury Theatre's own radio version of dressing up in a sheet and jumping out of a bush and saying "Boo!" Starting now, we couldn't soap all your windows and steal all your garden gates by tomorrow night, so we did the best next thing. We annihilated the world before your very ears, and utterly destroyed the C. B. S. You will be relieved, I hope, to learn that we didn't mean it, and that both institutions are still open for business. So goodbye everybody, and remember, please, for the next day or so the terrible lesson you learned tonight: that grinning, glowing, globular invader of your living room is an inhabitant of the pumpkin patch, and if your doorbell rings and nobody's there, that was no Martian -- it's Halloween.

How shocking that they omitted that.
