Agreed. I don't particular like him, but overall, he has done a pretty good job in his prognostications and advice.

The bastard manages to marry and turn a good conservative woman to the dark side, as well.

You don't have to like someone or even agree with them to acknowledge that they are good at what they do.

I mean Jesse Jackson is one of the best orators living. The guy can have a crowd eating out of his hand in 2 minutes.

And he's a sleazebag.

Youve got your history a bit messed up. Carville was Clinton's advisor for his initial election. It was Dick Morris who devised the re-election campaign strategy.

It's not necessarily true that Newt can't overcome his baggage. It depends on how and what he says and whether or not people believe him about it.

The US public can be pretty good about "forgiving". Just witness the Clintons.

I realize that you would never vote for him, even if he was the second coming. Doesn't mean that other people would necessarily agree with you that he couldn't be forgiven.

I could forgive Obama for his transgression, if he admitted them, was honest and forthright about it, and not only "promised to do better", but then his actions gave truth to his words.

Well, I doubt it will happen, either, but perhaps for other reasons i.e. I think Newt has a bit much hubris going on, because he is pretty darn well-thought out in his political beliefs, and I'm not sure that he gives other's credit for that.
