Perhaps an analysis is in order. "As Many may know I was terminated from my last position in February because I couldn't make their mandatory 5% sales goal. " OK, that is negative but it seems to simply be fact. In that particular sentence, I see nothing else. Fired, didn't make the cut. No embellishment no nothing. "Many of my previous posts reflected that I figured that this mandatory sales crap and all of their other changes were just a prelude to the company closing its operations in my city. " Supposition at that point. "GUESS WHAT " "Its happened, they are going to shut down their Columbia SC operations in six months! " Well now. Here's a question, why ? Wasn't him, he ain't there. "I saw the writing on the wall, I knew they were pissing off the customers, that their policies were pissing off the employees and ultimately they would suffer backlash. " There he does err. Pissing off employees doesn't matter in this economy. "They spent tens of millions to refurbish their building, but they drove customers and employees off by the truckload. Now they have to reap the whirlwind. " This needs claridication. It really depemds on the kind of business. If there is significant support after the sale, and they get rid of the reps. the customer had had a repoire with, then they are at fault. There is a rule in American business "Management can do no wrong". You see, no matter what, management can do no wrong, to the point where the management that ran that place into the fucking ground is likely to get a chance to do it again at another company. "I may still be unemployed but I am laughing as Rome burns to the ground! " That last part is the problem. Must remember business is business. The fact is that either they had a product that was unsalable or couldn't attract people able to sell it. How could they spend a bunch of money renovating the building under those circumstances ? Management, yes, those who can do no wrong are frequently completely clueless. Believe me I know and that is why I avoid working for large companies like the plague. Very few are run efficiently. Very few are run competently. We all know it. If you don't understand get the old videos of Belverly Hillbillies and watch the actions of the bank President, Milburn Drysdale. That should just about tell you. You see the problem is that income is not necessarily tied to performance any more. If someone said that profit is the difference between revenue and expense many managers would look at them like they had just quoted some sort of qwark theory or some shit. The spotlighted deer look. They get jobs and keep them by being in a clique, being liked and so forth. They have no more fucking smarts than the floor sweepers, really. There are exceptions but unfortunately in many industries here, they are indeed exceptions, not the rule. T^T
