mons -> postage stamp for collectors "WHITE RUSSIA" (9/14/2011 6:12:26 PM)

hello to all

I have a stamp album my sister has bought me, I am a stamp collector but I am having a hard time with some
of the stamps in the ablum!  The problem is I wonder if there are any stamp collector here?  I looked from the back to the
fornt of the stamp album!  I found a section that is called "White Russia"  It is such a small part with only four postage stamps
in the area, that is all the page has and it does not have any spaces for other stamps!  It is just the bottom of page with WHITE RUSSIA, then a place for only four stamp which are in place!  I have look into the Scott Catalog and can not find this selection at all?  Does anyone have an ideal where I can look for these stamps, prehaps another "stamp catalog, or a website?  I would greatly look forward to an answer!!!

thank you so much
Mons

I hope you know tht White Russia means Byelorus, sometimes spelled Belarus amd so forth. That region did have some changes here and there.

The important thing is the year in which the stamp or other whatevdr came out. That would indicate the regime, and the shorter the regime the more rare their stamps, usually.

Usually. Notice everything in life now is "usually".

Lance and Termyn8or

Thank you both so much, I am so excited I could just burst and wow I am now on the website that 'every
stamp collector should know!  My sister when she bought the book home we had a very hard time holding
it so the stamp inside would not rub into one another!  this album is from 1937 it look as if it belong to a child and
they work on it for years wonderful stamps inside and oh I am thrill to have it!  This is the third album she has gotten me
each one is better then the other , I have plate blocks and also the album that they go into it that was an estate sale find it is so much of a thrill, lol I hope I am not boring all of you but thanks listening and lance and temryn8or wow thank you I hope I may find something you are looking for also!!!!!  I have a civil war stampI have been collecting since I was a child.

FR after the fall of the Czar in 1917 a civil war broke out between the Red Russians, the Bolsheviks, and the White Russians, the anti bolsheviks. Presumably these 4 stamps are from the 1917 to 1923 Russian civil war.

They're probably worth some bucks.

Probably not. A quick check of eBay auctions will tell you that. IIRC, "White Russia" is/was Belorussia.
