Cliff Robertson,who won an Oscar for his performance in and as "Charly" passed away Saturday at StonyBrook Medical Center on Long Island. Mr.Robertson was seemingly blacklisted for four years after he exposed a prominent Hollywood big wig as an embezzler and a forger.
His most recent role was as Peter Parkersburg uncle Ben in the recent Spider-Man movies....

He was in some GREAT films... Wiki has a great page with his pictures and roles all laid out

Nothing campy about it.....I liked the film too,but one does have to watch it while keeping in mind the propaganda involved in fashioning a fantasy based on the war"exploits" of a future President.

He was one guy who I could always recognize but never remember his name, just a mental block, nothing to do wlth his acting... RIP Cliff.

I remember him most from 633 Squadron. (Whose theme tune is my mobile ring tone. Heh.) Hell, he had a long innings. Sad to see him go.

He was a old school actor, and a staple when I was a younger viewer.

I always liked Cliff Robertson as an actor.
Two films that I particularly like of his are
Obsession and Underworld USA.
Obsession was directed by Brian DinPalma
and his leading lady was Genevieve Bujold.
Underworld is a gritty sort of noir film he made
in the late fifties.
A trivia note about PT 109. JFK,s choice to play
him was Warren Beatty.

Three days of the Condor with Robert Redford in the lead,Robertson was fantastic in a supporting role.
