If he were still alive today, Freddie Mercury (former lead singer of Queen) would be 65. This isn't something I would have known if I hadn't, for the fun of it, clicked on Google for another country. I checked several different countries and they all have the same Google Doodle - except the US. I wonder why the US doesn't have it? Odd.

DANG!!! I had no idea he was my age!! RIP Freddie. Very talented he was. So many lost to AIDS during that time, it was heartbreaking. Walking in the Castro in the 80's could be so sad. I remember when the issue of the BAR came out with no obituaries for anyone who died of AIDS. That was a week to celebrate!

I saw Freddie perform live in the 80s in one of the first British stadium gigs. It was absolutely frickin' awesome!

The man was amazing.

Sleep well, Freddie.

You could make a flowchart for overrated rockstars such as Mercury and Cobain.

Okay.......I take "Negative Ned" back and say you are instead a "nay saying Nathaniel" ha ha

Here is another favorite YouTube video by Queen....The song "These are the Days"...Love the lyrics! I think it was his last video.

The one you posted up is the actual video for the single. I'm not really a Queen/Mercury fan but I thought he did an excellent version of The Great Pretender, back around 1987 I think it was...
