ORIGINAL: MrRodgers From 2001 to 2010, state debt alone grew from $13.4 billion to $37.8 billion, according to the Texas Bond Review Board. That’s an increase of 281%. Over the same time, the national debt rose less than 234%. [Still] the trend is undeniable. While Texas lawmakers have refused to raise taxes — and often criticize Washington for borrowing and spending — the state has been paying for much of its expansion with borrowed money. Fuck'n Texas liberal hypocrites..... While the state has had to borrow for infrastructure building to keep up with rapid population growth, as Schnurman points out, Texas didn’t have two wars, the budget-busting Bush tax cuts, recession-combating measures, and other big-ticket national expenditures. And Texas’ “borrowing isn’t slowing. So you have it correct NOW cybersluts...Gov. rick Perry of Texas tripled state debt, causing [it] to LEAD the nation in JOB creation by building infrastructure. But OH NO !! Can't let Obama do even a little less than that on a national level to create jobs too or he's a socialist, Kenyan, blood drinking neo-liberal, communist about to destroy America. How is it that so many Americans fall for such unmitigated hypocrisy and bullshit from the right's so-called fiscal conservatives ? I blasted Sanity the other day over something similar to this. I guess it could be applied to most of them. I'm not really sure why this characteristic of 'voting and arguing in favor of irresponsible goverment' that conservatives crave so much (arent they the ones that bitch up a river about 'Responibile Goverment'?). They have major problems holding themselves and their elected officals to any fair means of accountibility or responsibility with power. Its both disturbing and highly hypocritical. On one hand, they blash Democrats for even screwing something up that is minor, but absolutely show no care if a Republican does something hugely stupid. I ask Sanity to explain why he still votes/supports a national paper with fanatical interest. The use of the US Debt but one example used. How is it that he was against Democrats (and President Clinton) back in the late 90's when the US Budget had a surplus and the $2 Trillion US Debt was decreasing rapidly? The economists and mathematicians pointed out that debt would be eliminated by 2002. Than Republicans took over in 2000 and eight years later, the US budget was $1.35 Trillion in deficit and the US Debt $14.5 trillion and rising rapidly. Where the hell is the accountibility or responsibility!??!?!?!?!? Yeah, a Republican Congress impeachs a Democratic President for what? Getting a blow job from some pretty, young jewish intern, and lying to them and the nation? But yet, give a free pass on a Republican President that gets us into a war with Iraq, a few thousand of our soldiers killed, many thousands more injured (most we'll be paying for the rest of their lives) about 100K civilians dead, and untold damage. Not to mention nation building in Iraq that costed us $4 Trillion dollars. Where the fuck is the accountibility or responsibility!??!?!?! So I'm not really surprised to find Texas has massive debt. Rather than keep a 'Balanced Budget', they spend 'high on the hog'. Isn't that what ANOTHER Texan did from 2000-2008 on a national level? What was his name.... Even on these forums, how many times have many of corrected the conversative bullshit with facts and evidences, only to have them slink away and hide? How often do we see them come forward AFTER they got OWNED to say "yeah, that's surprising news, and I have to agree with the facts". Not even once. Wouldn't it be fucking nice if they held themselves to even one billionth the level of accountibily and responsibility as they hold Democrats and the President on a daily basis?
