WinsomeDefiance -> RE: Dog mourns for Navy SEAL (8/26/2011 10:18:27 AM)

We had a black lab, named Faith, who had a nightly ritual of sitting by the front door until everyone in the family was home safe and in bed - then she'd go lay down in my parents room and sleep. After my dad died, she lay on the floor by the front door for months, waiting for my dad to come home. One night she just got up and went into my mom's room and laid her head on my mom's lap (I'd swear they both cried together) and after that she never waited by the door again. Not the unfailing dedication of Shep, but Faith was always a smart and practical dog. I miss her.
