You'd think, in Uganda of all places, that being arrested under terrorist laws would require more than possessing a weapon.

Waldron says that his release was secured by a call from none other than then-president George W. Bush.

More bullshit from the nutsuckers on the right.

That would explain why Bin Laden was not gotten until Obama took office.

After a couple of years.

What took him so long?

And ... oh, yeah ... aren't you glad he closed Gitmo?  That showed the unrepentant right!

LMAO. I wonder how long it took Obama to pull the trigger without the benefit of a poll. The claim that anyone in the Bush administration interceded is totally unsubstantiated.

Since Waldron said Bush himself did, he is at the very least a dishonest fool.

Are those ideological blinders of yours so tight they cut grooves into the sides of your head?

I can see how you might confuse not accomplishing something in almost 2 terms as President and in 2 years accomplishing what the previous administration failed to do as a similar time frame.

Here is a hint.  A Presidential term is 4 years.

And you completely missed the import of my question about 2 years.

No one just "makes magic happen", especially pols.  It takes circumstances, information and commitment.

You can argue that Bush didn't have the commitment to finally "get" OBL, but if you do, you must also recognize that even with O's commitment, it took over two years to actually do it.

With Bush, the circumstances and information lead (IHO) to his reduced commitment.

In other words, while getting OBL was nice, and gave closure to some, as Bush stated, there were other things that were indeed "more important" than finding one individual which an "ally" was shielding.

That is certainly a judgment call, and we can argue that.

My point is that "wanting" something done, having a "commitment" to getting something done doesn't guarantee that the situation will otherwise allow it to be done.

At what point do you allow such "wanting" to become a disabling fantasy, and let it distract from more important, reality issues?

Obama had the "commitment", and the circumstances and the information changed in order to allow him to finally follow through.

It still took him 2 years to have all the factors align to allow it.

How long was it, in Bush's 8 years, before he decided that the "correlation of forces" for getting OBL weren't going to happen, and it was better to focus his energies elsewhere?

Oh don't worry we all understand your points and the game you try and run.

By important things you mean like say, oh I don't know, starting a pointless war in Iraq and wasting the lives of our young people not to mention flushing gobs of money down the drain in the process?

Important things like that?

The Bush/Cheney kleptocracy would argue the money did not go down the drain. Much of it was transfered from our descendants to the much more deserving owners of Haliburton.
