Status: offline 		During the last Presidential campaign and occasionally since President Obama's election, some Obamaphobes has argued that the statements made by his pastor, Reverend Wright, in some way disqualified Barack Obama from elective office, since Barack Obama did not quit Reverend Wright's church and did not publically attack Reverend Wright for his statements.

Presidential candidate Michelle Bachmann studied under John Eidsmore, worked as his research assistant on his book Christianity and the Constitution, and recommended his books through her website. She recently told a church audience in Iowa:

I went down to Oral Roberts University, and one of the professors that had a great influence on me was an Iowan named John Eidsmoe. He’s from Iowa, and he’s a wonderful man. He has theology degrees, he has law degrees, he’s absolutely brilliant. He taught me about so many aspects of our godly heritage.


So let us apply the same standard to Michelle Bachmann that some have applied to Barack Obama.

If Michelle Bachmann does not publically attack John Eidsmore for statements such as these and still associates with him, does that mean she should not be elected, just as some argue that Barack Obama should not have been elected because of his past connection with Reverend Wright?

Either way, I'll get on your train when you get on the other.

In other words, if you're going to incite hatred over religious views, then go hate reverend what's his name for a while. Other than that you're just playing ball on half the court, and with a flat ball at that.

i couldn't give a flying fuck who wins, i think they are all scum. they are politicians so they by definition suck donkey ass for breakfast.

bachman is a psychotic religious nut and therefore unfit to govern, obama is a weasley slimeball bought and paid for by the insurance industry without the balls to stand for anything and therefore unfit to govern. take them all out of the running and then we'll talk. fuck it, just grab the next fucker to walk around the corner of 3rd & main in west buttfuck kentucky and put him in the oval office, you'll likely get better governance out of him.

I agree, the thought of "career politicians" would have been anathema to the FFs. Strict term limits and minimum private sector experience would improve things a lot imo.

Hypothetically speaking, if the majority of Americans didn't like the candidates in party 'M' (M being a placeholder for a political party) in 2012 (or any other election year). An during the election, there is a truely massive 'write-in' for a candiate that has served the maximum terms (due to your idea of term limits) and has enough votes to claim a term in office beyond the maximum. Which would trump the other? The 1st Amendment (Freedom of Speech) vs 28nd Amendment (Term limits for Congress)?

Note: There is no such thing as the 28th Amendment. I'm just using it as part of the hypothetical question. One could replace everything with the President of the United States and make it an arguement of the 1st vs the 22nd Amendments.

Status: offline 		The votes dont count, like any other ineligible write in. Anyone stupid enough to write them in deserves to have their vote not counted, especially since the candidate will have publicly thrown his support to someone eligible.

Your comparison is so bogus that it's difficult to know where to start. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall Reverend Wright advocating for blacks to take over the country, impose black culture on all of the races living under their heel, and stone to death anybody who didn't get with the programme. That you would make Bachmann's and Eidsmoe's rather dismal homophobia the centerpiece of your case indicates a complete failure to appreciate the sheer magnitude of the depravity you're dealing with. Consider this:

Exactly. We're used to people having different views on homosexuality, gay marriage, abortion, etc., but Wright came across as an America-hater. "God DAMN America!" That's what pushed buttons. There's no comparison there with Bachmann.

The problem we face with Bachmann is that the majority of people don't realize what she stands for. They've never even heard of Eidsmoe or Rushdooney, let alone actually read their insane tracts. And given the nature of politics today, they're probably inclined to take what they do hear with a generous helping of salt.

After all, who would imagine that anybody could really be that crazy?

What would be the "minimum private sector experience" in your opinion? I'm just asking because I'd really like to know how you think people could actually prepare for a job in government through the private sector. Personally, I see the two far too different and every time politicians have tried to run the government like a business it seems to have not worked very well.

It becomes something else. I'm not too sure what that 'something else' is ... but according to them it's not hypocrisy. Some logic like "Love the sinner Hate the sin" might work for them here ......
