This is not really odd.  If you go back in their history most tribes never had problems with gay or what one might consider cross gendered members.  Often they has special spiritual places.

I have wrestled that down in my mind. Many years ago I thought homosexuality was perverse in so many ways, that it ws wrong and all that shit. But I grew up. Nobody taught me that prehudice as far as I know but it was there.

Those people seem to have a better understanding of human nature as "savages" then we "civilized" folk.

Among the tribes, we were very civil. It was the "white man" who decided we were "savages" all because we didnt live by the bible and cover from head to foot.
