stripmymanhood -> search and link issues (7/25/2011 7:04:01 AM)

Just asking if anyone else has had an issue with some website posting ads in loads of profiles...it seemed one out of every 5 or so profiles had a link to some outside website in it.

Also, is anyone else having problems with searches not filtering? When I'm doing a search for those seeking submissive men, it seems i'm getting many profiles that are searching for submissive women.

CM has been hit by a rash of spamming profiles of late, all with the same site URL spam - I presume the site operators will take appropriate action*.

In the meantime, "report" each one, then ignore & block the twats.

*Nail em up! Nail some sense into em!

Somebody finally got it and didn't post a name associated with a specific profile.  Congratulations for being the first person to figure out how to do this in the right way.  Kudos!

From what I understand about this problem, this is happening when folks are going to look at a profile that shows up in their "Who's Viewing" list.  The profile is almost always young and lesbian, but can be either Dominant or submissive.  My actual advice to folks until admin can clean this up is, if it's not somebody who would normally be viewing your profile, don't click on theirs.  Pretty easy for Me because I'm not interested in chicks anyway.

I'm having this problem as well.

Sorry, but no - they're not just on profiles that peek you, and they're not just on lesbian ones.

My guess is that someone has hacked a number of profiles and then waited to edit them to include the web site name, or has just created a load with the web site name in.

Maybe you can correct Me if I'm wrong then, RF.  From what I have seen of folks asking about this problem, you have to at least view another person's profile to be redirected to the other site.  Is that incorrect?

Open question in general.  Has this happened to anyone where it wasn't linked to the profile of a female?

I wouldn't know coz I haven't clicked on any of them; as soon as I see what's on their profile I just hit "Report" and then block & hide them (and it'd be great if that was just one button push, BTW ... or maybe it is and I haven't tried it in ages, thinking about it - in other words, I hit "hide" then "block" - "block" should do both IMHO, but it never used to). It looks like an embedded HTML command in style though – I’ll have a closer look the next time one pops up.

You don't need to view them to see the site though - as each new profile is added it seems to pop up at the top of the listings (i.e. they're ordered by date last logged on?) and thus even if you don't peek/perv them you can still see something isn't quite right.

I wouldn't know about male profiles because (presumably because my sexual preference is set to "straight"?), only girlies show up on the listings I see presented.

MsLadySue -> RE: search and link issues (7/25/2011 1:28:13 PM)

It's only women's profiles that come into my viewing list also.

LadyConstanze -> RE: search and link issues (7/25/2011 1:32:31 PM)

I haven't noticed anything but then I hardly ever browse profiles, usually log into my CMails and the forum...

Is it worth having a look?

GreedyTop -> RE: search and link issues (7/25/2011 3:14:47 PM)

dont. just dont.

OK.  So you are saying that it can happen through the home screen as well?  Meaning that would have to be the profile that comes up due to whatever search parameters you have set that matches that criteria which was logged in most recently in whatever surrounding area (250 miles, 500 miles, etc) when you log in?  Glad I keep My criteria set for close to home.

The profile can often be one to pop up as the top search result (and therefore end up on the home screen) but you don't get redirected to the site unless you go to view the full profile.

Edited to add: I had run across one or two of these and used the support link to make sure they knew it was going on (back before this started to get bigger) and CM did send me a support email the other day saying that they know about it and are putting extra measures in place to combat it.  Annoying - but eventually it will go away.  They may still be here, but they will no longer be able to use the forwarding scripts.

It's whatever screen CM defaults to, for me. No idea which one it is, as I've never bothered changing it.
