Inthewoods -> javascript error on profile? (7/24/2011 11:01:33 AM)

Someone seems to have hacked my account and added some bogus recommendation of a website to my profile. I have changed my password, and tried to delete it, but the changes won't save. The error message says something about javascript and the content filter, so I assume that whatever was placed in my profile was not just copy.

Please, I don't want to create a new account...can anyone help me save this one?

Write to Support.  They handle techical problems.

I have been noticing that on several other profiles lately.
Eeeeks and good luck!

Me too.  I've already notified the admins because the embedded file locks up my browser if one of those profiles turns up on my front page and redirects to the site if the profile is viewed.  I'm sure they'll take care of it quicker if you report it as a hack.

I looked at the source code for your profile with some of my browser tools.

When editing your profile, look at the very bottom of it for something like this...

<script>
document.location.href = "http://li"+"lit"+"1.c"+"om/";</script>

This is what was injected into your profile to redirect to the other site and what you need to get rid of. Typically, the text editor that Collarme.com is using does not allow <script> tags to be saved (or sometimes even displayed in the editor). This is probably why you are getting an error when you try and save it.

If the above code doesn't show up in your profile when editing it, you will have to wait for the admins to remove it.

When the rich text editor loads on the profile editing page, it will convert the textarea with your profile's content and hide the line DecadentDesire pointed out from view, even though it's present. To see and remove the line, just load the profile editing page with JavaScript temporarily disabled to keep the rich text editor from starting and you'll see the raw code where you can edit out the injected script tag.

Instructions for disabling JavaScript in Firefox can be found here.

Collarme is aware of this problem and is working on the situation. They will have it sorted out as soon as they can.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this has presented!
