I was going to complain or make a joke about how hot it is... then I realized that at least:

1.) it isn't 115 degrees;

2.) I'm not 5,700 miles from home;

3.) I'm not dressed in a full ACU uniform and helmet and carrying 70+ lbs.; and

4.) there is very little chance that anyone will shoot at me or that I might drive over a bomb in the road today! Thanks to all who serve !!!

Yeah it's all relative isn't it? It's still uncomfortably hot here but our winters are so long and nasty that I refuse to complain. I work with a couple of people who complain no matter what. It's too cold! It's too hot! It's too rainy, snowy, what the hell ever! They are such an energy drain I just ignore them. I would rather find the good in whatever present conditions are and be happy!

Oh...looking at your cock pic qualifies.

37C (99F) here, which is a good deal better than the 45C we had yesterday. There's a wind which makes all the difference.

..  specially  temp will be 99,  heat index 112.   Being that it did not cool down last night we might go higher.  I ran to do errands at 8 am and traffic was heavy.    Alot of people had to same idea.

yeah- it is a rah rah post to celebrate the endless wars.    would there be war if no one signed up for it?

Didnt we just pay  billions AC bill in Iraq?     A few people on this board have no ac, and live in marginal neighborhoods...I happen to-  but I know of at least one who does not.

Not celebrating war hunky. I detest the idiot that sent them because of an ego trip. I just support the guys that are just trying to do a job. It's not their fault they are where they are. If they had any say so, I bet they'd much rather be home eh?

Hmmm I assumed that you were posting about the heat wave and how pointless it is to complain since it could always be worse. Was I wrong?

Well, since the title of the thread is "The Heat Wave", I'm going to post the comment that I just got home from running errands and my car thermometer read 105 in northern VA.

And I am very appreciative of the troops in the middle east.

Hope that covers everything.

Then dont sign up.

we could stop murdering Arabs.

we could have an exit strategy-   this is worse then Vietnam.

How many wars is it now,  5 or is it 6?

In our lifetime we know nothing but war.  We could have changed that but we dont- instead we allow and enable war.

If people didn't sign up willingly, do you think the government would just say "fuck it, lets all be at peace?"  Seriously?

I for one say, thank you, to all that volunteer to serve my country.  I'd rather not have ALL my sons drafted into war, thank you.

(sighs) that's all I have to say about this.

If the pols want war- let they themself go do it.   Leave the rest of us out of their adventures.   It is all for the banks and hedge funds.   GE profit record high and pay no tax.

We are not "all in this together"

I don't have an AC because the damned things are so freaking unhealthy, I don't plan to make myself sick and the neighbourhood is quite posh.

If you consider "summer" as temperatures above 80 degrees, Seattle has had 78 minutes of summer.  They had 12 minutes of 80 degrees on July 2 and another 66 minutes on another day.  I'm here visiting.  It's overcast and in the 60s, or at least I think it's at least 60.  We thought summer was late in coming in MT.  It's nothing like here.
