A county ID and a driver's license should all be handled by DMV is what I am getting at but I didn't say it clearly.  This way all ID's have a commonality to them that is easily comparable.  I am not a big fan of the county ID because they looked "home done".  That is the point I am making.  I'm not saying it has to be a federal ID.  We live in a republic of sovereign states, the state should be able to have a single ID system that identifies someone completely.

Yeah, I'm not so much fussed about what form of government ID to take, just that the requirement to be able to vote shouldn't have a fee associated with it :)

I will say...when I was younger I had a fake ID from the DMV. Don't ask how. I had a legit ID with my picture and someone else's documents. So nothing's foolproof ;)

Good fake IDs are getting much harder and more expensive.

Nah, that ID would have stood up to anything short of police fingerprinting if her prints were on record. And it was super cheap too ;)

Yeah, but given that youre 99 years old, youre talking about an ID that was good by 85 year old standards ;)

Sadly, there are some on the Right who believe that on election day the only acceptable ID for voting is some kind of card showing you're a registered Republican.

After all, one Republican Congressman, Allan West of Florida, refers to non-Republicans as "threats to the gene pool".

Rather, to make that sure dead people dont vote. That leftist extremists dont vote four or five times...

In other words, to make sure elections arent rigged

But what can you expect from losers who get their news and information from assorted  comedians and clowns

The type of people who cant stand the thought of fair and honest elections

To safeguard against voter fraud and ensure that only the "right people" get elected, Republicans pass laws requiring voters to show government-issued photo IDs.

(Note - in Texas, students IDs would not count but gun licenses would.)

Wrong again, but keep trying Sanity.

I have faith in you, you're going to get something right eventually.

Wisconsin GOP Voter Fraud Exposed

Remember all the snarky little comments from Republicans about Chicago politics, things like “dead men can vote in Chicago”. Well I guess dead men can recall Democrats in Wisconsin.

Bill Pocan, is the father of Democratic State Representative Mark Pocan from Wisconsin. Mark’s father passed away long ago, but that didn’t prevent him from signing a recall petition for Representative Pocan’s colleague, State Senator Bob Wirch of Kenosha. On page 362 of the Wirch recall petition, you will find the address and signature of Bill Pocan. The date this was signed was March 3rd.

Bill Pocan’s wife, Corinne Pocan said in an affidavit that there was no way that her husband could have signed the petition, he passed away 20 years ago.

Oh, I don't know.

It must be the Democrats behind it all.

They are really just trying to out the virtuous Republicans in a bad light.

You can do better than that, Rule.  What connects it to the GOP?

people need to get a clue and understand that ALL fucking politicians are scum bag con artists, just like many of the entrenched tards that support them.

I read these posts and its no wonder government is out of control.

Need to ask yourself what voting is and how is a legitimate voter determined.

The way these assholes do it, its a farce like literally everything these assholes do.

First you need to be a citizen of a state or naturalized into the united states if annexed to federal territory enclave etc.

You need a citizenship and validated established domicile card!

Not a fucking ssn, id, residency, drivers license, electric bill,  or some other commercial paper bullshit that can be issued and used in ANY state or obtained 2 weeks before an election.

We get assholes from all over the country who spend 10 days here including loonar students who have not even figured out how to wipe there ass much less deal with the complexities of government eligible to vote by the above mentioned bullshit the illustrious leaders choke cough shit on a stick, chose to use as proof of voting eligibility.

The next thing get rid of those damnable electronic voting machines that can be hacked in less than 10 seconds and go back to paper ballots, and make them numbered with receipt you can take home and bring in for a recount with a district number on it so they can get a recount in any district.

let the dirty bastards try to cheat that system.

Termyn8or -> RE: To safeguard against voter fraud and ensure that only the "right people" get elected (7/22/2011 9:46:40 PM)

Real, why do you bother ?

You could say that only property owners should vote and I could agree. But property owners are as stupid as anyone else.

You could say that only people with jobs can vote, but COME ON, that's pretty fucking stupid.

You could say that only those learned in political matter could vote, well that certainly would narrow it down. About fifty people voting then, so that doesn't work.

You could say that only the rich should vote, and enforce it with a poll tax. Been tried. I'm not sure why it didn't work though.

You could say that only Citizens could vote, and then you lend creedence to those who presume to draw lines on the map, your nemesis.

Fuck it, how about who do you get to vote for ? Who fucking decides that ? With all the time on your hands, maybe some time should be devoted to that. Why don't we get more choices ? Until that is fixed, it really is a moot point.

Your call.

T^T

well as long as THEY insist on lines on the map them damn it they are the fucking trustees with the duty to uphold the fucking trust.
