For a brief moment I thought the OP could be extolling the virtues of German jam! Its a fascinating topic that isn't discussed much.

A jam made from Germans?  Too Dolcettish for me.

I expect it would have a relatively coarse texture.

My ex dragged me to one of those in Atlanta once. File it under doing things your partner likes that you don't like. The downside was that Jerry Jam sucked. The upside was that Garcia mercifully passed on to his great reward about a year before I met her so I was never dragged to an actual Dead concert. I did go see Bob Weir's band with her once (Rat Trap or something like that). They were tolerable. The upside there was that the opening band - The Low And Sweet Orchestra - was quite good. I bought their cd at the show. They mopped the stage with Weir's band.

Having said all of that Cherry Garcia is just about my favorite ice cream in the world.

Don't Look at me... I was busy getting my self nice and sick off the coast of RI, so I could be dragged out of the farthest reaches of the Allagash in Maine a week later... I heard though that it was a toss-up between which was more fun... the festival or the ungodly high fever I was cooking from a 20 mile canoe trip from the nearest road 8-)

My advice to consumers? If the list of Artists doesn't include Melvin Seals, just don't go.
If it does, go and don't stand too close to the monitors.
