Frothy mouthed leftist freaks here go on and on absurdium about FOX NEWS

Nothing wrong with just a little it of balance

And if a thread really bored someone why would they sit their trollish ass down in the middle of it

Frankly, the whole lot of you are boring, FOX, MSwhatever....news is a shadow of what it once was. Hello.

Move on. Read books. Get a hobby.

See you later--gonna enjoy the day.

But in both cases, and this is true of the other networks as well, it's less indicative of a partisan bias (which, in the case of FOX, is clearly there) than of the continuing and considerable decline in the quality of journalism in this country, especially on television.

Since you havent watched in years your opinion of what it is or isnt indicative of is as worthless as your claim that there were 3 recessions under Bush. Once again, Fox's primetime entertainment shows are hosted by conservatives, and they dont deny it. But they also present the opposing viewpoint. Their news shows are unbiased.

MSNBC NEVER pulls this kind of shit on anyone but a Republican, and they try to claim they are unbiased in all of their "reporting".

Musicmystery -> RE: MSNBC Info-Babe Eats Shit On Live TV (7/21/2011 7:27:46 AM)

You know, if you knee jerk morons READ what I posted, you'd note I AGREE with you both. But even THAT doesn't satisfy you.

You're both just trolling for arguments. I'm done with you both.

I mostly agree. It was a shot, not journalism, and she clearly hadn't done her homework. Absolutely unprofessional. If she wants to be Mike Wallace, she's going to have to learn how to be a good reporter first. Wallace, at least, goes in armed, not shooting blindly. That things like this are "news" is a disgrace.

I've actually never seen MSNBC, but given my distrust of Microsoft's computer products, I can't see why I'd trust them with the news. I have seen Fox a few times, years ago, and it was pretty appalling at times, with an interesting segment from time to time. I haven't seen much TV news at all from the other networks either in years.

But in both cases, and this is true of the other networks as well, it's less indicative of a partisan bias (which, in the case of FOX, is clearly there, and if it's there in MSNBC, it wouldn't surprise me) than of the continuing and considerable decline in the quality of journalism in this country, especially on television.

Incidentally...your inability to keep thread topics separate is like arguing with some ex-girlfriend, where years old arguments pop up as if yesterday. It makes any real discussion with you pointless.

As to the TV news point---I don't see ANYONE arguing that today's TV news on any network is top shelf. And I'm not likely too.

Shiteating rightists have a problem with fact, logic and reason.

Murdoch's News Corp "generat[ed] $10.4 billion in profits over the past 4 years, and which would have been expected to pay the IRS $3.6 billion at the statutory corporate tax rate, instead received $4.6 billion back from Uncle Sam. Bottom line: Murdoch's corporation had a cash paid tax rate of -46% between 2007 and 2010."
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article28552.htm
You can read a full account of how it's done at the link.

Shut these cocksuckers down, I dont want my tax dollars paying for this rabid right propaganda, if the toiletlicking rightists wants this line of shit, they will pay for it, and Faux will stand on their own, let the market decide!!!!!

Did you see the unedited version of his Jon Stewart interview? He got his ass handed to him, and he was intentionally antagonistic, and he was not doing journalism

Television news isn't news.... one does not watch cable news to become informed...

This is why people are turning to Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert for the news... sad, but it is true[:(] (and no one finds it sadder than they do)

What does my intellectual capacity have to do with the fact that people (especially under 30) say they watch Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert to be informed? It has nothing to do with me... how very silly you are

I watch them to laugh my ass off... but I would say the under 30 viewers that watch them like news are probably better informed than Fox viewers

LMAO...you would say. That's a reliable source.

The majority of college undergrads today--yes, the majority--couldn't find the U.S. on a map of North America.

They know NOTHING about politics, even less about the globe, less still about history...and like it that way.

MM, do you teach lower division? What I found to be true in dealing with college students is that the longer they go, the more they care... By the time they are in their senior year they are usually almost fully baked, if not fully baked.

I said that young people that watch Stewart and Colbert are more informed than Fox viewers... that ain't sayin' much... Fox News viewers are the unfortunate victims of a disinfo campaign and are consistently the most misinformed people in this country. In fact I would say they would be better off not to watch any news at all than to watch Fox, it is one thing not to know anything... but in my opinion it is worse to know wrong things

Musicmystery -> RE: MSNBC Info-Babe Eats Shit On Live TV (7/21/2011 9:21:41 AM)

julia,

By the time they are seniors, they know how to repeat clichés.

They DO know their fields, and they DO care about the job market.

But they know little to nothing about anything outside their personal worlds, and don't care to.

And the ones who get anthropology degrees are burnt toast.

I was surrounded with an odd mix in anthropology program when doing my undergrad... many were on the archaeological track there (it was a good program for that) and they were not very interested in politics.

Cultural people are just concerned with how politics impacts their little world with the people they study often...

But applied/sociocultural (my branch) are extremely informed and even become versed in some philosophy, political thought, etc.

So my view of college students is a little skewed....

I will say geography students ( I minored in geography) were fairly knowledgeable, though

Musicmystery -> RE: MSNBC Info-Babe Eats Shit On Live TV (7/21/2011 9:28:41 AM)

Know what's discouraging? Generally worst students are the education majors (obviously, there are brilliant exceptions).

Also often poor are programs with a wide margin for choice, unfortunately. Rigorous programs breed better students.
