Unless there is an allergy involved and it is a definite long term relationship, no one has the right to ask anyone to get rid of his/her pets.

A friend of mine put up with periodic allergy shots and an inhaler until her husband's cats died.

Another friend finally gave his cat to me after his (now) wife tried daily vacuuming and keeping his cat out of the bedroom. It took him two months to talk himself into it. Now Doris has joined the cat family of 5 that live in my house.

Pets are important parts of our lives. And that guy's post on craigslist was hilarious!!

Yeah... someone tried pulling the "cat goes or I go" bullshit with me one time. It took me all of 1 second to decide that my reply should be a simple yet rather eloquent, "Bye.", as I wandered to the kitchen to grab a soda and a snack, before sitting on the sofa to cuddle with my little purry fuzzmonster and watch Iron Chef.
