Lucylastic -> Public Would Blame GOP In Event Of Default...2 polls (7/14/2011 12:48:08 PM)

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/14/poll-public-gop-republicans-blame_n_898516.html

A plurality of registered voters said congressional Republicans are to blame in the event the debt ceiling is not raised in a poll conducted by Quinnipiac University from July 5-11.

When asked to whom they would assign responsibility should the limit not be raised, 48 percent of respondents chose the congressional Republicans; 34 percent said they would blame the Obama administration.

These results echo a Pew Research Center poll conducted from June 16-19 which asked the same question as the Quinnipiac poll. According to that survey, 42 percent of respondents said they would blame Republicans in Congress if the debt ceiling were not raised; 33 percent chose the Obama Administration.

I would not crow too hard just yet.

What the polls say in April 2012 on the matter is likely going far more important in the unlikely event such a default occurs.

The natives might rightfully decide, that all parties involved share the blame, should such a thing occur.

I dont think/hope the question behind these polls will exist in 2012.. If its still an issue then, well times and minds change:)

FirstQuaker -> RE: Public Would Blame GOP In Event Of Default...2 polls (7/14/2011 6:08:48 PM)

So the poll, assuming it was done properly,  is still essentially meaningless then?

Lucylastic -> RE: Public Would Blame GOP In Event Of Default...2 polls (7/14/2011 6:28:38 PM)

depends on your definition of meaningless
Considering the debt ceiling is an issue right now, its a matter of interest, otherwise they wouldnt have done the poll in that particular way.
I doubt they will want to revisit the issue in 2012. it will be kinda redundant by then. Altho knowing the republican party .. it will be something just as useless
