How to Calm You Cat

Have you ever had to give your cat medication and it just didn't want to cooperate? Or for that matter any other reason you can think of that you needed to calm your cat.......this is cool and amazingly simple

Puts them right back into a state of kittenhood where they were routinely carried around by the scruff of the neck.

Perhaps I'm part feline, because when he wraps his hand around the back of my neck, I calm down also.

It works with ferrets too.

And rats, and dogs to a degree...

It's not just the reminder of being a kitten, with the cats and rats you do something like the Vulcan nerve pinch, they go all floppy, which is great if you have to put them into a cat box and transport them somewhere, any other way of grabbing them only makes them develop about 10 pairs of feet with big claws and heaven knows how many teeth...

No experience with ferrets but I believe a mother dog will carry the pups in the same way. I'd bet all of those animals do.

With cats you do press some nerves there, pick them up by the scruff of the neck and they're really floppy beasts...

Same here. My cats would freak, I think, if I tried to clip them like that but they love a deep, penetrating massage there

Interesting, though i wouldnt do it As i was taught ages ago Not to Grab a Cat there. On another Note, whilst it might work i doubt that my birman Girl would put up with it As her Attitude at the vet is more than embarrassing...She likes to Show off the lyoness in her
