I love the way America gives a person the freedom to define theirself.

Hijack: Oh God! the PIGMAN is back!

Yeah, it sure defined Rodney King!

What an absolutely asinine and nonsensical reply.

Not really, he was free to be beaten up for being black. Wasn't he?
I think Social mobility in the West stinks tbh.

I love LadyP's reply!

I love the way America looks after its poor.
Yes.  This means that I can contribute to any charity that I please, either with funds or with My time.

I love the way America looks after its racial minorities.
Yes.  This means that I have the power to help break down racial barriers, just by who I spend My time with.

I love the way America looks after Israel.
Yes.  This means that anybody that has been issued a passport has the option to go there and create change.

I love the way America looks after the earth's resources.
Yes.  This means that I can choose to use less oil, recycle, save water, and so many other things under My control.

I love the way America looks after it's finances.
Yes.  They even have an option when I pay My taxes that I can check to contribute to reduce the national debt.

God bless the American way....
Or not.  I get to chose the God that I want to believe in.  Those who don't want to, aren't required to.

In no particular order. I'm sure to forget something, so please add your own lists.
I love the right to free speech.  Even when it means that those who aren't really doing anything to make a contribution towards solving issues, or don't lift a finger to make things better, they still get to complain about it.

EXCELLENT!

Rodney King chose to define himself as a drug user and criminal.

That does not validate some cops going overboard on him but that in turn does not invalidate my statement.

Social mobility in the West stinks, huh? Have you tried it in the Middle East?

As LadyPact noted, in America (and the west in general) we have the freedom to fight back against stereotypes and false beliefs that would otherwise restrict us.

In some countries people are excuted by the state for being homosexual... in the West their human rights are being recognized and codified. In many countries you marry the person your parents pick out for you, you worship the god your parents worship, you adhere to the "moral" code they and society demand from you. A girl born in Iran will be a good Muslim woman who marries who she's told to marry and will keep his house whether she wants to or not. Here, a child raised in a fundamentalist household where she is also expected to marry a good Christian man and raise his good Christian children while cooking the meals and keeping the house does not have to accept that. She can bolt to San Fran (for example) and become a Domme if she so chooses, or explore her homosexual feelings... or both!

You should be glad for the freedoms Westen civilization affords you... it gives you the freedom to define yourself as an emotionally insecure, trolling dick.

You see you were doing alright until your last sentence where you villified and labelled me for my opinions. Whilst I disagree with yours, I believe you have a right to express them. Practice what you preach.

Lucylastic -> RE: God bless America (7/6/2011 8:17:06 AM)

Unfortunately you are only entitled to your opinion, you sure as hell arent entitled to NOT being called on BS and questioned on your "own facts" AND you havent put forward any facts, only opinion.
PS name the Matriarchal systems that have stagnated in the last two thousand years.

I have not said anything that in anyway denies your right to freedom of speech. I am merely using my freedom of speech to let anyone who comes by this thread know that I think you are a emotionally insecure, trolling dick. In fact, I'm glad you have the freedom to be an emotionally insecure, trolling dick. That's one of the great things about freedom of speech... it makes the assholes easier to spot because they tend to stand up an announce themselves.

Lucylastic -> RE: God bless America (7/6/2011 8:24:38 AM)

amen Marc!

It's the attempt at villification for an opinion which you disagree with which is most amusing.

An interesting response however you are speaking as an individual, not for the nation so it's not relevant unless you can get another 200 million Americans to agree with you.If you could that would be great as all the plus points of America would still be there but a lot of the negatives would be removed.
America is still a country of great opportunity but unfortunately for every person that makes it there are 1000's left behind in desperate poverty leading to crime drug abuse etc etc.
Fab place to be a have, not so good if you are a have not.

But doesn't every nation consist of individuals?

And you know the way the UK is going right now, I don't really think that we're all that far behind regarding the American model...

hardcybermaster -> RE: God bless America (7/7/2011 6:00:01 AM)

It does but you need a consensus of those individuals to make a difference and that's something we don't have.
Agree about the UK and I would include pretty much every developed country unfortunately. Now lets all go out and buy a new plasma TV and watch people with white teeth and botoxed lips shoot people

Yes it's truly horrible.

Being beaten for resisting arrest, violating parole, and endangering the public by leading police on a high-speed chase in excess of 100 mph.

All because he was black.
