GreedyTop -> Crossposted (since the P&R folks seem to be ignoring it) (6/30/2011 12:07:25 PM)

Food for thought:  http://www.hulu.com/watch/177536/lord-save-us-from-your-followers

I found this video to be quite intriguing.  Warning:  it is LONG.. almost 2 hrs.  but well worth watching...

I had a similar response to it; bitter-sweet.

not surprised, LAdyC, since it seems to be geared towards American "Christians"..

It's broken down into parts on youtube. The link below takes you to the beginning.

thx Kirata :)

sunshinemiss -> RE: Crossposted (since the P&R folks seem to be ignoring it) (6/30/2011 2:59:57 PM)

... can only be watched in the USA... :(

Thanks Kirata!  Yay! (sometimes I get the same thing on Youtube!)

sunshinemiss -> RE: Crossposted (since the P&R folks seem to be ignoring it) (6/30/2011 3:03:19 PM)

Ok... what does it say about me that I disagreed with the very first statement!

Nobody converted to Christianity because they lost the argument

All those people who converted so they wouldn't be killed....

And then I thought... well maybe that's about what they are going to talk about.  It's not arguing that made people convert... it was murder or assassination or war.  (Queen Mary comes to mind as does the so called Holy Wars....).... ooo I'm going to watch this over the weekend!
thanks!

LadyConstanze -> RE: Crossposted (since the P&R folks seem to be ignoring it) (6/30/2011 3:05:05 PM)

Thanks, I'll watch it, looks interesting!

JstAnotherSub -> RE: Crossposted (since the P&R folks seem to be ignoring it) (6/30/2011 3:09:57 PM)

I have been watching on and off all day. and it is interesting as heck. I even got brave and put it on Facebook....I am waiting on my family to come and pray on my lawn now-lolol.

GreedyTop -> RE: Crossposted (since the P&R folks seem to be ignoring it) (6/30/2011 3:12:39 PM)

LOL   I thought about putting on my facebook... but decided against it since the majority of my 'family' are exactly the types it would be most abhorrent to.. and my Mom would be the one to hear about it...

Before I waste the evening, can someone synopsize the video? That way I can determine if I want to spend two hours watching this. I've been watching for 4 min already and still seeing commercials

~fast reply~

Oh well.  My internet connection is too slow to watch the video on, so I went to the youtube version on my phone, but that only plays for like five minutes.  Sucks to be me, lol.

I haven't watched it yet either but the official description says: "Whether someone is Atheist, Agnostic, Muslim, Hindu, Jewish, - or yes, even Christian - all can identify at times with the cry, "Lord, Save Us from Your Followers!" Fed up with the divisive bumper sticker mentality overtaking America, director (and follower) Dan Merchant donned his Bumper Sticker Man suit and set out on the daring search for meaningful dialogue and the true face of faith."

Too slow to stream it maybe, but with youtube you can just click Pause and set the window aside while the download finishes.

Then play it.

Thanks Kirata, if I want to watch 8 hours from now that might work.  I've tried downloading other things and that's how long they have taken.  I'm staying with a friend, helping her take care of her mother who is dying, and finally figured out the air card (apparently the wiring in the house couldn't support a broadband connection, at least that's what she told me) is actually dial up!  We got a 4g hot spot thingy, but have had trouble setting it up.

I clicked your link and then came back to type this.  So far it downloaded less than 30 seconds.
