ORIGINAL: pwnerandpwned For us, it no doubt has to do with both of us liking Japanese animation in our childhood (meh, in our adulthood too, really :P). Cat girls, or Nekos, are fairly common, and while sometimes having cat characteristics, they tend to be much different in personality than a house cat. These characters are often shy, soft spoken, and super happy. As well, they tend to be naive and cling to other characters (frequently a love interest) for guidance and support. Since we were already exposed to such fantasies, and the roles tended to closely mirror our own interactions with each other, it just sorta fell into place as part of our D/s relationship. I would say, as a whole, a good percentage of kitty-play participants are influenced by similar things. I often visit kittenplay.net, and see lots of anime pictures, geeky girls and guys, and personalities that seem to closely resemble the anime cat girls. I'm going to take a look at that site. On another note, I looked at your profile earlier and you make the most adorable kitty!! I think I almost want to pet you..in a non sexual way..but still usually when I see a girl playing the role of a kitten it usually makes me say "Lame!", but you are adorable.
