At least the Fed is being a little bit honest these days.

Ben Bernanke and the rest of the federal reserve, announced that growth in the economy is slower than expected, the jobs market is weaker than anticipated and they are admitting to slower economic growth, higher unemployment and higher inflation in 2011 and 2012 than what had been expected.

Federal Reserve admitting to gloomy forecast

I don't think this is news to most people, but at least they are admitting it.

On the other hand, if they are actually admitting it, I am sure it is worse than what they are willing to admit to.

Hang on to your hats, money, and everything you have got, the road will continue to bumpy for a long time.

SURPRISE!

When Greece defaults it will trigger phase two of this depression.

I'll be surprised if things aren't worse than they were in 08' by the time this year is over.

Way to completely misrepresent the article.

Got any sources for your alternate claim?

Yeah we all knew the economy has continued to sink.

And it ain't gonna get any better until we stop giving all the money to the rich folk--they just hide it away. The poor spend each and every penny can get their calloused little hands on.

I didn't read the article. It's probably just more nonsense from Uncle Ben regarding how our economic and job growth was "slower than expected" - like every other article after a FED meeting. And I saw Mohamed El-Erian on the news the other day saying that Greece will default. I believe him.

I agree most people know how the economy is doing through first hand experience, BUT...
how often have the FEDS admitted it lately?

This too me, FLIES in the face of what I have been hearing the past year when they were saying things were getting better.

The economy continues to sink because Republicans blocked the bill designed to end tax breaks for companies who outsource and provide incentives for bringing jobs back to the US. Republicans politicians are pissed because we have a democratic president and want to make him look bad, even though they know their actions continue to destroy the economy. Republicans are traitors who want the "jobs jobs jobs" to stay overseas.

Many people realize that jobs are the #1 issue at this point.
How is all this unbridled outsourcing and the wonderful globalized economy working for us these days?

Hey buddy, can you spare a job?

Excellent response to the "We don't need no stinkin' 'articles,' we just watch Fox news" crowd.

I especially liked the "little whistle" thing, so descriptive as it is.

I actually just clicked the article to read it, and it basically gives us the "slower than expected" mantra that I figured it would.

Why would I watch FOX news? Just another government mouthpiece like all the other networks.

What are your qualifications on the subject? You don't really understand finance or economics at all do you?

You could try. At least you understand this basic concept. (though it will effect the rest of the world much more than it will here in the US).

I am not sure how others go about reading or not reading links, but it is extremely rare for me to read in entirety ANY link that anyone posts on here.

On a good day, I might glance at it and skim through it.

More often than not, I am not going to click on any link, that is why you can almost always understand what I am talking about, without clicking on a link!
I often post a link, to correlate what I am chatting about, I don't expect most people to click on a link and read it in its entirety, cause I don't.

If you can't make your point without me clicking onto a link {click this, go there, read this}, oh well on to the next post.

What are yours?

Would you care to give the audience here the run down on the zeroes of the production function? If you even know what that is.

The fed say whatever they say, to apease twits that have too much money and too little brains as what got us to this situation in the first place.

Don't delude yourself that you have any say-so in this matter by mere imaginative alligning yourself with those far beyond your station.

PS

While we're on the subject of finance, why don't you tell everybody what a synthetic CDO is?

Yeah, I thought not. Go back to the tube, boy, that's the best chance you have in life.

This is an interesting statement, I would love for you to elaborate.

I simply mentioned that Greece would default and that it would be the catalyst for the second phase of this depression. Then you make irrelevant criticisms, declare that I don't know what I'm talking about, while making no counter-arguments of your own.

I'm studying at the world's best institution for economic theory. What are your credentials?
