There has been a steep price to pay for Afghanistan. It wasn't paid under Bush, because he was consumed with his idiot war, but we have fully realized the pain of Afghanistan under Obama.

Its a start.While armchair warriors think you can just pull out like having quickie sex, it doenst happen like that in the real world, not disagreeing with you at all Jlf, but just glad that the trooops will be rotationed home, .Hopefully without any more casualties, its not fast enough for me, but ....Im so not aware of all the implications. nor do I want to be

That pisses me off. Ok, I suppose I should clarify. It pisses me off that we are waiting another whole year to bring those people home. I could see if they were pahsing it in, over the next twelve months, with the last coming home... but that wont be what happens, and we all know it.

Umm.. where were you when we discussed him putting more troops there? Its been happening since 2009 that I recall.

The decision reflected a partial pivot by Mr. Obama himself, who campaigned for president on the argument that American resources were better spent in Afghanistan, from where the Sept. 11 attacks were planned, than in Iraq, a war he continues to characterize as one of choice. He sent in 30,000 troops,

Feb 2009 he announced sending in 17000. December that year he announced another 30000.

I think most people did. Unless im mistaken, its what Bush promised before he left. I just want them all home... ok.. as many as possible since I do realize some will have to stay. The 2012 promise just pisses me off because it seems like its a push for election time. Call me cynical.

that a third of them will be home before the end of the year is good, and lets face it... no matter what the numbers were or when, if he has said, 2013, people would have said not soon enough, we dont have the money, etc etc etc:)

nooooo :) I meant the 10,000 out of the 30,000 not the full forces figure:) mea culpa I should have stated that more clearly
