ORIGINAL: Owner59 That`s an election year.[:D] I wonder how the cons will react. I don't qualify as a con, but I ain't a lib either. Wasn't a Bush girl and not an Obama girl. This paragraph from the article sums it up for me: "About 68,000 American troops would be left in Afghanistan after the withdrawals, roughly twice the number who were there when Mr. Obama took office. " So Pres. Obama has sent more troops to Afghanastan than Bush and plans to keep more troops there than Bush. And more young Americans have died there under Obama and leaving more there means more deaths. And the recorded deaths in the Afghanastan conflict do not include the suicides there, which are the highest in US Military history. Bush was wrong, Obama is not only wrong, he's running up the numbers, not decreasing the numbers and not close to getting our men and women home. This so called withdrawl is nothing but a red herring. Ron Paul is the only politician who has this thing right, imo. mbmbn So whatever this withdrawl plan is... if falls way too short for me. edited for sp.
